It was very nice
Food was best we had on a trip from Texas to Montana and back. Chicken fried steak worth fighting for!

Horrible service, very slow, mostly ignored. Ordered 17 dollar quesadilla got onions and peppers and a few pieces of beef. It's a joke. And, smells like old mop water.

We thought this place was great and now have another favorite restaurant on our list for the hills area. We’re pretty picky too. My hubby finally found a place makes a real chicken fried steak. I had the broccoli chicken bacon pasta and that was really good, too.
I don’t know why there’s so many bad reviews. We will definitely go back.

Took over an hour to get our food. Steaks were tough and cold. Tea was so bitter I couldn’t drink it. Customer service was horrible. Waitress was inattentive after taking our orders and bringing me water which I asked for after telling her about the tea. Wouldn’t remove the cost of the tea from our ticket. Definitely do not recommend this place. Far better options of places to eat are available.
Wonderful Breakfast, great service!

Enjoyed a great meal with great service. Menu is clearly marked that condiments are an extra charge. Attentive staff. Food arrived promptly for our party of 9

Waited 10 minutes at the table before our server arrived with menus. After ordering, more than 40 minutes passed before our hamburger/onion rings and a patty melt/fries were served. Once the food arrived, we didn't see our server anywhere on the floor until she brought us our bill. The upcharge for my side of onion rings, from fries, was $3.99; we were charged an additional $1 each for ranch dressing for the rings and mayo for the burger. The food was very good. When we left, we saw our server standing outside smoking. After shopping about half an hour later, a few doors down, we passed the cafe to go to our car and our server, Crystal, was again outside smoking. She might want to find another job if she can't go without smoking so often. That's probably why she never came by the table to check on drinks, etc. We are locals, who give much of our business to Hill City, but will no longer eat at the Hill City Cafe until they get their service problems corrected.

Beast breakfast burritos around!! Fast and friendly service!
Food was really good. Service could be better, our waitress was slow which resulted in us sitting with empty drinks. Hard to blame her though, she was the only one working serving the bar and the tables. It was supper time and not fair for her management to expect her to cover it all without help. That all said, this could’ve been a one off, if I’m ever in the area again I would return. Small restaurant, which I like and felt like a small town family setting.
