After waiting a while for acknowledgment given they were short staffed, we finally managed to place our order for breakfast - oat milk latte, drip coffee, breakfast panini and breakfast burrito. The latte didn’t look like a latte at all, there was no froth on it whatsoever, it looked like a glass of milk rather than a coffee. I could barely taste coffee so I took it back to the barista who added another shot of coffee to it. I could barely drink half of my so called latte and had to discard it. Drip coffee wasn’t any better. Both the panini and burrito were bland. Regret picking Lotus Up over other options in the area. Can’t recommend it for food or coffee.

The food was SO reasonably priced, and good! They don’t go half way with the food effort. Their butter beer latte was delicious, and they have a bunch of really good sounding signature drinks. Such a cozy, comfortable vibe both inside and out.

Well, very mixed feelings on this one... I had stopped by the other day and so I came back, cause thier chai is wonderful... Buuuuut this morning the lid was not secured correctly on my very hot chai and it popped off right as I took ot from the Barista... extremely hot liquid poured onto my thigh (i do have pictures but I will spare everyone) which now has a long red burn on it.. the barista never asked if I was alight and only brought 2 paper towels to offer for cleaning up the spill.... While I know it wasnt intentional.. it happens I worked as a barista for years.. the lack of concern when, as a someone who should know very well how hot steamed milk gets it was disheartening...and I dont think ill be coming back... Food was great, drinks are great! But getting a very blaze' reaction to molten milk spilled all over kinda curdles the feelings a bit....

Did not expect such a wait here at this little café. But after tasting the coffee- we understood why. We had about a 10-minute wait where we were able to wander around. There's a perfect loft seating area that was extra cozy. The coffee was delicious both times we went in. The muffins were fresh. The staff was friendly and even though they were so busy, they didn't mind us taking a bit to figure out what we wanted. Loved the variety of things when you first walk in. Things to purchase, seeds to share, etc. Also loved the little cash discount that's offered. The flavors weren't listed anywhere we could see before getting to the counter, that was my only complaint.

From a Texas tourist: skip trying to eat breakfast in Deadwood and drive 10 min to this coffee shop! The service here was way nicer than elsewhere in SD. I got the caramel roll (huge) and a blueberry scone. My husband got a coffee & a breakfast panini. All of it was delicious! We enjoyed our food upstairs with a great view.
Cute cafe with a pretty view, nice selection of gluten free breakfast and lunch items. Greatly enjoyed the panini.

We found this great coffee shop last year while vacationing in the area. Spent 2 nights in Deadwood this week, and got coffee here both mornings! Great seasonal flavors and the caramel roll was super yummy!!!
