Thought we could get some pastries here but sadly, they didn't have any. The person who helped us made it clear that they are more interested in doing weddings than in walk-ins - which is perfectly understandable since that's where the money is. We took home an oat bar and some pumpkin cake. They were both quite tasty. Would I go back? Although I saw a table in there, we were not encouraged to stay Nor did we really feel welcome, so I don't think we will go back.

The Rustic Nook Bakery was great to work with! The cake and buttercream specifically are to die for - YUM! Our cake turned out beautiful and so delicious. I gave an inspiration picture and they executed it perfectly. Wish I lived closer so I can have this cake as much as I want. Anyone that is getting married in the Black Hills area get your wedding cake or any type of cake at Rustic Nook!!

I was looking for someone to make a bday cake for my son’s 5th Bday. I found the Rustic Nook online and decided to email them. They responded the same day. Communication was easy and smooth. My husband went to pick it up so I saw it later and I have to say it was amazing. The cake was Sonic themed and they went above and beyond decorating the cake and adding extra stuff. The cake itself was delicious and moist. The frosting was perfect (we dont love super sweet frosting). Everyone loved it. I will def be ordering my cakes from this bakery. I also cant wait to check out the actual bakery to get some goodies. Thanks for everything!

A new bakery opening in Rapid is always exciting! I recently visited Rustic Nook Bakery, and while there’s clear potential, my first experience had room for improvement. The staff seemed a bit disorganized, with three employees crowded around the register — one handling drinks, another taking orders behind the pastry case, and the third at the register. It gave off a chaotic vibe that could be smoothed out with better communication. They could definitely benefit from having a small counter behind them so that they can prepare the pastries taken from the shelf instead of being almost on top of eachother when putting the pastries in the container.
I purchased four pastries for a reasonable $12. The taste was hit or miss. The croissant was small and tasted average, while the larger chocolate croissant had a pleasant flavor despite tasting like it used Hershey’s chocolate inside. The Oreo blondie was dry and overly sweet, but the raspberry shortbread was a standout — perfectly flavored and worth coming back for.
The bakery shows promise, but a few changes could elevate the experience: clearer menus, labeled pastries, and improved teamwork among the staff. I’m optimistic about their future and look forward to returning to try their cakes and other offerings!

I am so happy Rustic Nook moved to Rapid City! They’ve been serving incredible fresh baked treats in Lead, SD for years and the quality and service shows. The carmel roll was absolutely delicious and the space is very cozy with couches and tables to enjoy your food. I also ordered a carmel apple pie for Thanksgiving from them and they were a huge hit with my family! I can’t recommend this bakery enough 10/10

Grand opening for their rapid location and boy is it awesome. While there was many tasting looking treats, I stuck to a classic rice crispy treat. It had the perfect amount of chewy to sweet ratio. Perfect little placed tucked right along deadwood Ave!
