Stopped in to buy a trail map. Spoke with owner who was very helpful. We came back next day to ride ATVs and stopped in to ask permission to park across highway in grassy field. Owner was very helpful with directions on how to get to trails safely. Stopped back in for lunch. Best sloppy joes ever! Owner and wife were very friendly and happy to answer all our questions about the area. Will definitely be back.

Stopped in on the last day of the Sturgis rally and they were very rude! We had 3 women that needed to use the bathroom and they following them around making sure there was a purchase made. Put a dam cup out if you want to charge for bathroom. You have no clue if we had been there all week or not you just wanted money so leave a cup out. Extremely rude people! Wish I had caught there name but will be sure to continue to mention these kind of people on all social media platforms.

Stopped into Trailshead on SxS and were greeted with smiles by Todd & Julie. We know them well from staying there in January for snowmobiling. We bought one of their maps, which shows so much more than any map around town. Trust me, the map they have changed our trip from a good ride to an excellent trip!
We had a great meal, filled up the SxS, and went on our way. Thanks for all the trail riding information!!

Julie and her husband have an awesome place here! Great breakfast in the mornings. Fuel on site. Cabins were clean and plenty of towels. Whole resort in general was very clean and well-maintained. Even had some great conversation with Julie and her husband during breakfast. Definitely will be back!!!!!!!!! See y’all in August!

We just stopped by to check it out and the first thing I noticed was how clean and tidy it was. The staff was very helpful and easy to talk with. We didn't look at the cabins but I'm pretty sure they're fine. They rent snowmobiles.
We were out Atving. Stopped by for lunch and fuel. The food was good, and I had huckleberry ice cream for desert.Food & drinks: See above.

We were on an UTV trip last week. We were riding down to see Cement Ridge Fire lookout. On the way there, one of our vehicle's engine temp got hot. We stopped at Trailshead to see if we could borrow a hose to clean out the radiator. The owner told us "NO!". He said if the radiator is plugged, then that meant we were riding through mud which "tears up the forest and we don't condone that". While he was berating us about our LEGAL riding activities, the rest of our group was inside buying snacks from his store-clueless to the interaction that just took place outside. When they came and we informed them, they were obviously upset they just spent money to support some j*** who could careless if we ended up stranded on the highway. Again, the mudding we did was riding through marked trails and is 100% legal. This guy shouldn't own a business if he is going to treat people like this, let alone paying customers.Thankfully, we traveled down the road to the Buckhorn Bar and Grill in Wyoming where the folks there went out of their way to assist us with using their hose to clean out our radiator. They also had great service, were extremely friendly and the food was amazing. If you have an emergency with a UTV, you're better off sitting on the road and asking for help from a passerby than you are stopping at this "Black Hills Business". Trailshead Lodge should either get new ownership or close if this is how they treat UTV riders.

Owner was rude and pathetic, but food was good. Will NEVER stop there again.

This was the perfect respite for my cooped up kids. Lots of space and it backs up to the black hills forest so we were able to see some deer. Everyone in the main building (where check in and the restaurant is) was very friendly and helpful and the young son even asked if my 11 year old wanted to play basketball after her ate so that was a HUGE bonus after 7 hours on the road (YES! GO OUTSIDE! DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN POKE YOUR SISTER!)We really enjoyed our stay there and I think we were the only ones in the cabins so it was QUIET.
