Well! We found the Dutch Oven on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try on the way through the region. As other reviews suggest, it is a wonderful small-town operation. The rolls and donuts were as delicious as they looked. If we'd had a cooler with us, we would have bought packages of things to go. Coffee was just fine. And they used real plates to serve, not styrofoam. Heavenly donuts, nutty rolls... Make sure you stop if you're anywhere in the vicinity!
This is the spot where all the old boys go for breakfast ? If that’s your kind of place then you’ll love the Dutch Oven. Both the breakfast sandwiches and the cinnamon rolls are delicious.
I live in Mitchell, SD and have since 2003. The talk around the area is Dutch Oven Bakery. After 16 years we decided to drive down to Platte to check it out. Well worth the trip!! Loved all the bakery items!!! We went for seconds and brought back bakery items. Great food, wonderful staff and a very busy place. I recommend stopping. So fresh and tasty!!
