This was a basic WOKE tourist trap for locals. My daughter had a Rasbery Smoothie, which was more water than anything. My traditional cup of coffee was again watered down, and they were stingy on the honey and almond milk.

Price wise, they are close to New York City, but Rapid City is no NYC. Service was a tad slow compared to the place not being all that active. Finally, I could have done without the political chatter by the staff complaining about Trump.

He won, get over it. But one cannot expect Anti-American business owners to understand that capitalism expanded by Trump will raise all boats, including theirs.

This is supposedly a coffee shop, not NPR discussion hour.

When/if we return to Rapid City, we will be checking out the other Java shops.

Agreeing with the countless other 1 star reviews, coffee and service were matched in poor quality. Rapid has many other local coffee shops, higher quality and lower priced.

I can’t say enough about how cute this place is. Everyone who works there is so nice, they made me the yummiest vegan mint mocha frappe, and they’re right on the square downtown so you can enjoy the live music while you sip your drink. Definitely check it out!

Stopped in for a coffee and pastry. Ordered the coffee roll and I was told I could have it heated up. A most excellent idea and experience. Great coffee and food with a wonderful staff.

Matcha was vary bad. It felt like there was only milk that got green.

The one person who said it was overpriced and meh was correct.

Edit: Homemade does not equate to quality.

Very pleasant coffee, delicious vegan treats. They even brought our dog a bowl of water on the patio! Thanks!

Locally owned and long-term managed coffee shop with bakery.
It is located on the East side of the downtown Plaza.
Beautiful facility with many comfortable seating options.
Fruit smoothies, baked goods, teas, expresso, and ice cream.
Immaculate and sparking clean.
Park in the city garage or on the street.

Over the last week, we have tried multiple different coffee shops in Rapid City. Alternative Fuel is by far our favorite! We found ourselves back there time and time again.
The coffee was so good it didn't need any sweetener or cream.
The atmosphere was very laid back. We loved the music and the messages.
The fact that they had delicious GF options for my children who need them was AMAZING! (Gluten Free) The food that they got was very tasty, even by my non-GF standards.

This coffee shop was less convenient than others in the area (no drive through) but was 100% worth parking and going in!

We loved the outside tables right on the square. It was very enjoyable being able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful early-summer mornings, and some days, there were even activities going on there.

A good small-town coffee and more shop. Nothing to complain about nothing to really praise besides that lavender blueberry smoothie. But besides that it is quite enjoying reading the owners' adamant replies to bad reviews

Patti was so great! We came in ordered a smoothy, offered to split it, wasn’t asked OFFERED. Then came and let the kids pick a straw color, and I got 2 girls that fight over having the same thing. It’s just nature and she handled that like a pro. Then my son dumped his drink, cleaned it up and topped him off with whip cream. What I have to say is that a lot of people brew coffee. Few people love others the way Patti did with my family today. She anticipated our needs and crushed it at every opportunity.
