The place is nice. We ate there on a Saturday and did not have a reservation. Lucky enough, we were served a table right away. The place might have an almost white clientele, and when we are ushered in, the waiter asked where we are from. Well, we tried the bison steak, and in fairness, it was cooked good. It was tasty with no gamey taste. It was nice trying that resto.

A true gem. The rustic atmosphere is amplified with unique artisan works. The wait staff is phenomenal. The menu has a wide variety of steak options. We opted for the walleye, which was sublime. If you're in the Rapid City, SD area, this is a fantastic restaurant to try.

Excellent service and atmosphere! The appetizers are amazing, try the Walleye sticks. However, I have not been impressed by the ribeye (you choose thickness) it just doesn’t seem as tender as I would expect. I think I’ll try a different steak next time I go.

Best filet we’ve ever had! Melts in your mouth. The sides were good too! Great service!

Had the Chislick which was good. The must have Ceasar Salad (whole lettuce leaves with dessing and parmesan shavings on top) and the Elk ravioli ( disgusting). If it wasnt for the excellent service i would give i one star. The service was great food was garbage. Will never eat there again.
Exceptional!! We were traveling, and wanted to enjoy a sit-down meal. Prices were reasonable, food was a delicious balance between new/exciting flavors (ex: buffalo, walleye) and down-to-earth dishes (ex: classic salads, burgers & steaks), the service was incredibly prompt & professional and the atmosphere was very clean and surprisingly quiet (easy to hear everyone talking at your table) for a moderately busy Friday night. There’s a neat buffalo statue out front that we had fun taking touristy pics by ? Oh & they serve you warm fry bread (free) to enjoy while you wait…double bonus that everyone loved!!It may not be the norm every day, but for being rather busy at 7pm on a Friday, we were shocked to have been able to find good parking, got seated right away, ordered & ate within 30-45 minutes. We would definitely visit this place again!! Thanks Dakotah Steakhouse team for providing this little gem of a place in the Black Hills!!Parking: They have a large, wide open parking lot that was easy to navigate around (no fancy/tight loops, etc) and was well maintained.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu - nice selection and fair prices. And they even welcomed us to order their meals right away so they had extra time to eat!
