Best Mexican Food in the Black Hills. Absolutely my regular go to for home cooked comfort food. Staff is friendly, professional and welcoming. Place is clean, comfortable and inviting. Food is fantastic and served quickly. Must go for best Mexican food in the black hills.

El Sombrero is a Mexican restaurant in Rapid City that serves tasty Mexican food with classic dishes. The food is good, with generous portions for the price. Margaritas are delicious and plentiful. The chips and salsa are very good, and the best salsa is a highlight. The queso with chorizo is excellent, as is the chimichanga. The special of the day was Pork Chile Verde, which was solid. The a la carte items are also good, especially the shredded beef. The Carne Asada in the street tacos is phenomenal, and the rice and beans are this good. The Tres Hermanos and Camarones a la Fiesta come with rice, beans, lettuce, and delicious guacamole. Service can be great, but sometimes poor and slow. The 3.95% upcharge for a credit card is nonsense. Despite this, the restaurant is a great find and a new favorite place for tacos.
