Fort Hays Chuckwagon Supper & Show

This was me and my family's first chuckwagon experience and we had a blast! When we were in the line to enter the building, we were wondering how that many people were going to get in quickly and get served. However, they were extremely efficient with the order and the process. The food was delicious and the show was very entertaining. My 14 year old and 11 year old really enjoyed the show, too!

This is a must thing to do while in Rapid City. This was are second time there and can't wait till the next time.

Excellent show! Music from the last decade ~ so easy to not be able to stay in your seat!
Corny jokes; great people; cute shops; lots of history and original/replica buildings; perfect chuckwagon food ~ The spice cake was just how grandma made it!
For our family experience, the cost was well worth it.

My wife and I did the bus tour and supper show. It was nice letting someone else drive for a change. We really enjoyed the bus tour with narration. Afterwards we were tired from a long day and almost chose to skip the dinner and show. I'm glad we went because that turned out to be the highlight of our experience. It was so awesome and so much better than I ever thought it would be. The food was great and the show was extremely funny and entertaining. The musicians were very professional and they also served the food! I can't recommend this enough if you're doing a tour through the Black Hills. This is an absolute MUST SEE event. DO NOT SKIP THE SHOW!!

While the Chuck-wagon experience is on the pricey side, it is more than worth the price for the show and memories you'll enjoy. Show up plenty early to enjoy the living museum like space outside the dining hall, the rope making portion is especially entertaining and educational for children and adults.

Simple, but delicious food kicks off the entertainment portion followed up with some of the greatest hits of music and genuinely funny jokes interlaced throughout. Our kids from 4 years to 8 months handled the experience well. They were enthralled with the lights and upbeat music - asking us to keep singing along to the show. Best part is: I've been back 3 times now and each year they have a different rendition, new crop of jokes, but that same consistency of that cozy and lovely American culture your family probably needs more of. It's not often that you walk away from entertainment feeling proud of the country you live in, but this show ends their event with a nod to our heritage, our veteran heroes, and our God given and blessed country that we call home. This nod leaves you reminiscent of the days gone by as our young, but bold country has developed its culture through music over the years.

I genuinely love this show. And you will to.

Show was great. Food was good, although I wanted to try both chicken and beef the guy serving the meats gave me a stern “NO” when asked to get both.

Great chuckwagon meal and performance. A must do event if you go to the hills.

Terrific meal and great singers. Our evening was cut short by a massive power outage. The staff was very concerned for everyone's safety and getting us to our buses safely.plenty food was hot and perfectly cooked.

Low season so noone around so great experience visiting the dancing with the wolves movie set.

We loved the show. The food was good and music so much fun. I would highly recommend for all ages!

No longer cowboy Chuckwagon music, but very entertaining.
