It had been awhile since eating here so we tried again tonight with family. Very disappointed. No one to greet when arriving because the person at the register was also serving the diners. The unattended phone was constantly ringing off the hook and alarm/timers were going off in kitchen area. I'm guessing they were short staffed in the kitchen too based on no one turning off the blaring timers. It gave a feeling of chaos throughout the restaurant. The frazzled server was so rushed and harried that she would cut us off in the middle of ordering because she had to answer the phones, hand out the to-go orders, and then wait all of the tables by herself. The place seemed clean but the food was terrible. Our fantail shrimp appetizer was an undercooked blob of batter. The wontons were stale, cold, and rubbery tasting. My daughter's lo mein was missing the noodles, my Sweet & Sour pork was pork surrounded by undercooked batter. In fact, none of the breaded fried items were properly fried to a golden appearance. It seems they were in such a hurry to get the food out of the kitchen that the proper and safe cooking time is not being adhered to. Specifically, any of the batter items they served us were so doughy white with no golden crust that they were very unappetizing. My son-in-laws's meal had undercooked scallops - appearance wasn't opaque and they were served cold. We had nice experience in the distant past at this restaurant but either they had a very bad night this evening or quality and service has gone way off the rails.

Since it changed hands the flavors are no longer there. Had the chicken wings and although nice and crispy no flavor neither was the fried rice which was really dry. They need to get the previous chef back

We love Golden Phoenix! We order take out more often but have gone in for a few date nights there. The waitress, Patty, we have gotten at least two of the times and probably more is so efficient and impressive. She could out serve 5 waitresses! Not to mention keeps your water topped off, and has brought me something I needed without me saying a word to her 2x now. I love when you eat there the food comes out so hot you have to let it cool down to even eat! Thank you for the good food and the best service.

We keep giving this a chance but they just can't meet the standards the place used to have before it changed owners. The food is edible but barely, the server was kind but the greeter was not welcoming, and when ordering takeout our order was wrong. I worked here many years ago when I was in high school and we kept the place clean and well maintained. It has been ran into the ground, and gross would be an understatement.

I really want to like this restaurant the way I used to. If you haven’t been here in a bit … note newer ownership. Unfortunately there is an unclean vibe …. The bathrooms have not been touched in who knows how long. The toilets and floors are enough to take away your appetite. The wall coming apart with mold all over and water under….
Cleanliness of bathrooms makes me wonder what is going on in the kitchen honestly. The entry way is dirty and windows etc.
I only say this so these people know where to improve. This place needs a facelift!
Food is not near what it used to be unfortunately.

Golden Phoenix use to be good but since it has changed hands it's awful!

Stopped in for a late lunch and got the cashew chicken with wonton soup. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken with sweet and sour soup.
There was a lot of celery in my cashew chicken, and I cannot eat celery, plus the taste was bland. However, I would definitely stop in here again. The egg rolls were so good! Some of the best I've eaten. Service is friendly and fast.
*To note: there is NO buffet. This place popped up when I searched Chinese buffet, so just a heads up.

We ordered dinner via Door Dash last night. The food was not good. We had Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Neither of us could finish our meals. The breading on the chicken in the S&S chicken didn’t taste good at all. The rice tasted off, together with S&S chicken, it was barely edible. The reviews were good which is why we chose Golden Phoenix but based on our meal last night, we won’t be ordering from them again. Maybe it was an off night but it was not good at all.

Disappointed. Giant orange peels in the orange chicken, extremely bitter, soacking in syrup, breading soggy... never again !
Sadly no buffet but they had a good selection of lunch deals. The food came out extremely fast and was really fresh. The staff were nice but had to run then direct to get seated. It was good enough to give them another chance.
