The food at Himalayan Kitchen is very flavorful! I personally enjoy the Fish Coconut Korma with catfish! My parents love the vegetarian options. We eat here almost every time they visit. The staff is very kind and the atmosphere is peaceful. This is easily a 5 star restaurant, a hidden gem here in Rapid City South Dakota!

I don’t live in Rapid City anymore, and grateful to be able to travel around the us for work, and get to try many different restaurants. With that being said, with all of the traveling - Himalayan Kitchen is still my very favorite. The food is always amazing, the servings are large and the service is always above and beyond. Sherpa and the staff are always so kind and friendly. It’s kind of funny to think that part of “missing home” in South Dakota would be missing an Indian/Nepalese restaurant. If you’re a local and haven’t been, you should go! If you’re a tourist, you should also go! :)

We were group of 14 went to dine in on 4th September. Waiter requested us it's difficult to accommodate so much crowd. We understood his concern so requested dine in option for 8 of us. Still he refused and suggested us to take TO GO. While we were thinking, he mentioned "There are other restaurants too in the town". Such a rude response you give a guest? We still took a TO GO. The simplest food is Dhal Tadka. Can anyone complicate it? There is not even a pinch of salt in it. Rice is not completely cooked. I have tasted other Nepalian/Asian restaurants across US, this is the worst one.

Should've gotten the mild sheep curry, my bad, but given that the flavor was great and seemed authentic. We shared the appetizer plate, good mix of flavors. Prices were competitive for the fare. Staff was courteous, prompt, friendly, helpful. We'll be back one of these days.

We thought we'd give this place a shot after staying in the area for one night on our road trip to Washington. It got great reviews so we figured it could be yummy! Yelp has yet to steer us wrong because this place was amazing! Fast and friendly service and the portions are big! As a vegetarian I got the veggie curry that was SUPER tasty, my dad got the tandoori chicken, and an order of naan for the table. We probably could have gone without the naan since both dishes came with rice PLUS the chicken came with lentils. Everything was beyond tasty and well seasoned. Plus, free parking. Who would've known SoDak would have great Himalayan food!! Highly recommend this place!!

We stumbled into Himalayan Kitchen Cuisine after a long day jeeping in the Black Hills of South Dakota. When we stopped for gas, we looked up and there it was, this Indian restaurant. Yippee. We went in, ordered Indian beer and Ora one of everything on the menu. Omg! So very delicious. Everything!! We had leftovers for 2-days. Thank you so much. We enjoyed every morsel We'll definitely be back

Definitely you won't be disappointed. Strongly suggested. In addition to the extremely tasty food, the mango lassi was very good also. We need to travel to next place, but if we come back in the future, we will come this restaurant.

The food was very tasty. Service was great. I can tell they are exceptionally understaffed but worked hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. Loved the lamb Tikka masala and rhe butter chicken. The portions are spot on. Great people running it.

It is a great place for something a little exotic! It is a higher end lunch, but well worth it!!

I was surprised and delighted to find a Nepalese restaurant in the middle of South Dakota - who knew !Lamb Samosas were huge, the ground lamb delicately flavored and delicious with Tamarind chutneyI tried the Dal Bhat Tarkari in Thali, a kind of Nepalese bento box. The basmati rice rice was perfectly cooked and very tasty. I enjoyed everything on the platter, especially the green (spinach?) snd orange chicken - I don’t know the exact names of the dishes. I also enjoyed the things that looked like grapes but were a sweet soaked in honeyOh, and whatever that crispy baked thing was on top of the rice - yummy !I’m glad I stopped here, while in the area for Sturgis
