Pretty good food but going out of business? I think it is the location in the mall, would probably do better as a stand alone facility.

To start with, this is a Dickies BBQ operating as if it's not a chain, it's a cafeteria type line, carry your own food, get your own drink, the special was a two meat sandwich but they were out of one of the meats? so they offered to double up on the other meat making it a barely normal sandwich. Incredibly disappointed, I will never return.

If I could give this restaurant and its owner John Miller a negative 10 stars I would. My wife and I sat down with John in January, went over the menu and various catering options for our September wedding, and elected to have John & his restaurant cater our wedding. I provided him a credit card to save the date and reserve his services. We THOUGHT everything would proceed as expected from the owner of a local and established restaurant. As September approached, I texted John in July to review the menu and appetizer/entre selections for a wedding of approximately 30 guests. He never responded. We followed up throughout July with texts and phone calls to his personal cell (and yes, I received his personal voicemail and left countless messages). We never received a call or text back nor did he ever answer. Two trips to his restaurant as well proved fruitless as he was never there nor did he return calls when I left messages with his cashier or manager, Colby. My wife reached him ONCE on the phone and he stated he'd call us back after the Sturgis rally but he never did. I reached him ONCE by phone towards the end of August as it was now crunch time and he told me that he was busy with the state fair and to call him after the fair on Monday, August 28th. On Monday, he didn't answer my call, he didn't return my text nor did he return my call when I went to the restaurant and left a message with Colby to call us ASAP. At that point we went out that Monday night, found another local bbq restaurant, secured them as a caterer, and moved forward (god bless Texas Roadhouse, they saved us with great service and great food! Patrick, the owner, and Jen, the manager, saved us!)To this day (September 3rd, one day after our wedding) we have yet to hear one word from John Miller. No apologies, no excuses, NOTHING. His behavior is unbelievable and horrifying. I'm more than accommodating and understanding had there had been an emergency or other crisis but the fact that he didn't have the simple decency to call us back or reach out to us AT ALL after likely a dozen attempts to contact him is horrifying. I hope others find our experience useful and take their business elsewhere. Maple Street BBQ and its owner, John Miller, need to figure a few things out about doing business...

Meat and sides were good.My expectations were a restaurant and table service. It's attached to the food court of the mall and is counter service only. Drinks and beers are cans and bottles in the fridge. And the guy behind the counter reminded me of the cast from the movie "Clerks".

I have been all over the US and ate BBQ from one end to the other. This place is the real deal and is as good as any I have ever had. Very impressed and highly recommended!!! Brisket was awesome and the ribs excellent. Everything we had we liked. The hardest choice is which meat & which of 6+ sauces to use.

What a delicious gem. Don’t let the location fool you. We tried numerous things, pulled pork sandwich, brisket, sausage, fried okra, and Mac n cheese, everything was delicious. Prices were great. Will definitely be back.

Maple Street BBQ is a large barbecue restaurant located at the Rushmore Mall. You can access it either through the mall or from a separate entrance. This location reminds me of a large Dickey's Barbecue Pit with a similar feel and menu. There is plenty of parking in the mall parking lot including a Tesla Supercharger station. The menu is traditional American barbecue. This place focuses more on meat by the pound, but you can also get sandwiches. On my trip, I opted for the special which included a pulled pork sandwich and a side. They have brisket, ribs, chicken, and sausage too. There is a condiment bar with various barbecue sauces and other fixings with beverages and a self serve ice cream machine. My pulled pork was decent. I did not get much bark in the meat, but the serving was generous. The sauces were nice with the original sauce helping the pork the most. My side of the baked potato casserole was good too. Overall, my meal was satisfying but not inspiring. Fortunately, the staff and the massive interior were great - especially the living room setup with fireplace and couches!Maple Street BBQ is a good choice for those who want some barbecue in the Rapid City area. They have meat and sides with a nice atmosphere. This is not Texas or Kansas City, but for the area it is a good option.
