Sumo Japanese Kitchen doesn’t look like much from the outside. Once inside, you’re quickly comforted by the decor, cozy feel and Okinawan influence plastered throughout.
I had the Bibimbap Rice Bowl which I enjoyed. Then I topped it off with one Summer Roll. I was very pleased. I also had the Yuzu tea. Pleasantly sweet.

Spectacular Sushi! Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was fun! How can you not have a wonderful time in a Godzilla themed room? Will definitely go back.

Been staying at SDSMT - Saturdays at Sumo have quickly become a tradition. Friendly service, great sushi and decently affordable.
Before you click away a sushi place in South Dakota this is one of my top 5 sushi places I’ve been and I’m not from up here. I got the Unagi nigiri and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki chicken was nice and perfectly tender. The sauce for the Unagi was a little tart but consistency of that eel was so good it made totally forget the sauce. The food is so good totally recommend. 8.9/10
Food is OK to good. Service is a bit sparse if you get seated in the side room.
