“Definitely a sports bar type of atmosphere. The food was great. I got the chislic and it was good, though I wish there was a little more of it. Didn't have to wait too long for our food and our waitress was very nice. Tons of tvs with sports playing on all of them. We went on a Saturday.“

“This is NOT a 💯 % recommendation for The Wooden Nickel. We first visited this establishment just over two years ago. We frequented it almost weekly for the better part of 1.5 years. It was good…the food is good & at the time the service was good. However lately…in 2024 it has been sub par. This year during Crooks days we stopped in…it took 15 minutes FOR ANYONE to walk up to our table and even hand us menus…and when she did she was on the phone talking to someone. We waited another 10-15 minutes and nobody came back to our table. In fact a table close to us came in after us. They got a drink order and a food order in. There were 2 people here during CROOKS DAYS and the car show! By this point we were fed up with waiting. I went to the bar and told the bartender what was up. His response was “I just got here.” Subpar service to say the least. Prior to this fiasco a week earlier I had reserved seating for up to 15 people for a surprise bday party for my wife. It started ok as I had ordered starters before the party arrived. However once everyone showed up it took over 45 minutes for any one (first person) to get their food orders. They were (2 people) under staffed! How do you not prepare when you know you have a large crowd coming in? IDK what’s going on here however we had spent a LOT of money in this place the previous 2 years before spring/summer 2024. Since Angie has been gone pretty much….bring her back. We have deliberately been avoiding the Nickel because of this latest subpar “preparation & performance”.“

“My wife, son, and I came in for supper last night. It was a welcoming environment, clean establishment, with great customer service. We were greeted by many staff members before we could even get up to put our name in for a table! Awesome! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was absolutely fantastic! Then my wife and I got the Blueberry Bison Burger and the Tandoori Melt! Holy cow were these both amazing!! We were in town for a doctors appt and were recommended to this place. Needless to say, we will definitely be coming back whenever we are in Sioux Falls!“

“Great place but due to my stupidity I left my window down and my car door was open when I come out and all my milwaukee tools in the back seat were stolen. Had I reached the owner sooner and the firedepo next door ould have been Able to have some camera footage of who it was but thats on me also. I love stoping in and throwing darts there when im in the area“

“This was a very welcome surprise when visiting Sioux Falls. We’d stopped into the grocery store to grab something from the deli before hitting the road. This menu offered simple and enticing options at reasonable prices.

I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad to go. We waited at the bar. It was nice and quiet, you almost forgot you were in a grocery store. The salad was prefect! Delicious fresh chicken, flavorful dressing.

The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful as well! I will definitely be stopping again when I’m in the area.“

“We had a wahlburgersI had the one with peanut butter sorry I don't remember the name of it but it was very good. My husband had one of theirs special hamburger and he thought it very juicy and good too. We did not understand how it worked but a nice bartender help us out. I give him 10 pus“
