I really really wanted to give this place five stars for food however my classic smoked chicken sandwich had ZERO sauce. As you can imagine, very dry. The chicken itself with smoked to perfect perfection with amazing flavor. The fries also have great taste, but need to be cooked a little bit longer. I would return in hopes that this was just a one off experience

First time here. Had the Original Fried Chicken Sandwich. Counter service was good, sandwich was not. Two tenders, two pickles on a bun, dry. Had to add mayo for flavor.

I can't believe 18.99 for eight wings, I got 8 wings at slim chickens for 10.41, your wings aren't that good
Nashville hot sandwich is Not Nashing Hot by any means.

This is my go to chicken place, the chicken is always good. Portion sizes are generous for the price compared to other places. But their fries are something else. Definitely my favorite fries to get in Sioux Falls very flavorful never soggy and never overcooked.

Three of us went there for the first time. Both chicken sandwiches and fries were ice cold. We were there with no one else in line and food came out cold. Staff could care less about our cold food, the guy we told just shrugged it off. So we dumped the food and left. Not going back.

8 min wait in the drive through which isn't bad but they didn't give silverware and I got the potatoe salad as a side. The food was really good.
I love Chick N Max and recommend them to others. I am a picky chicken eater and do not like chicken that tastes too chickeny/juicy/greasy and Chick N Max is just right! Their chicken strips & popcorn chicken are so flavorful (and great sauces!) and they are not overly breaded. I also really enjoy the crunchy breading on their unique onion rings (not sure if any other restaurant in SF serves onion rings like these?) and their deviled egg potato salad is excellent, as well as their toast!!
As good as Chicken Max is, there's always some room for improvement. Here are 2 things I wish they would change:
1) Making sure their delicious thick, soft bread is toasted. I've eaten there many times and my bread is always barely toasted and has no butter flavor (if there is butter on it it's too light. I can't taste it!). Look at Canes, their toasted bread is awesome, always well buttered & toasted consistently. Chick N Max toast is very similar if not identical to Canes, just needs more butter & toasting done to it to really make it excellent. Customers will actually come back just for delicious toasted bread, so please make sure your toast is always actually toasted and has butter on it or at the least, please offer butter on the side.
2) I do love Chicken Max's potato salad and the hard boiled eggs in it really make it special! I am a huge deviled egg lover and have made them for every holiday for years. I always add sweet pickle relish to my deviled eggs and it really makes them tasty. Would love their potato salad even more if they added sweet pickle relish. Just my opinion. Thanks!

Prices are higher than other places… I ordered a side of hush puppy’s and got 4 total lol. Go spend your money elsewhere.
