Fresh & made to order! I asked the owner, who was taking our order, for something vegetarian With a little heat. She said OK. And between she and her husband, they made one of the most amazing vegetable dishes that had Ginger and garlic oil with a little bit of back heat. The vegetables were still crunchy And the rice was cooked perfectly.
The crab rangoon are the best I’ve ever had. Filled with cream cheese & crispy.
Love this restaurant & the owners. It’s Immaculately clean. And if you Don’t know what to order, ask them & they will help you and make it a special order for you!
No question this is now my new favorite Chinese in town!

My husband and I stopped in around 1:30ish on 9/14/25 and we were the only ones in there. I had not been there in a few years and my husband (in my 20 plus years with him) can't remember ever being in there, but remembers a buffet. We were passing it going down 41st and made a note we would eat there soon, then the thought got stuck in my husbands head, and thats what he wanted for lunch.

Their menu is quick and easy to read if you already know what type of Chinese food you like.
The portions are large for the price. Food isn't heavily breaded like other establishments in Sioux Falls. It's made fresh after you order and ready in minutes.
My husband doesn't have about food often but he hasn't stopped talking about it all afternoon/evening. Its now after 10 pm and he's still talking about it and how excited he is to have his left overs for lunch tomorrow.

China Express has solidified itself as my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Sioux Falls area. First of all, I have to address how they have by far the best crab rangoons in town. While most other restaurants have been skimping on the filling in recent years, theirs are stuffed. Their proteins are generous and not mostly breading like other places. They have an order at the counter setup and your food will come to you on styrofoam plates and with plastic silverware, which I personally don’t mind. The interior is extremely neat and tidy, not to mention inside (I believe) an old bank, making for some interesting interior design. The woman behind the counter, I assume to be the owner, knows the menu very well and will make extra sure you are ordering exactly what you want.

Took 25 minutes to get order. 2 other people ordered way after us and they got their food. They said my lemon chicken took longer for some reason. One of the order was totally wrong. Had to re-order half of the vegetables were missing and the most bland pork dish ever I would not recommend at all.

Small portions for what you pay. Served on styrofoam plates, plastic forks, and paper cups. I felt like I was eating from a lunch truck.

This is a great place to eat. Not fancy but, really good food. I stop in whenever I'm passing through.
The owners are great and have gone above and beyond to help us with our needs in the past. I've eaten there for lunch, dinner and special events they have helped us arrange.
The last time, I hadn't been there in a year and owner still remembered me and what I like. As for dishes to recommend,
I just recommend them all.
This is not the fast food franchise China Express some people may think of.

My grandmother and I won't be coming here again because I ordered sesame chicken it was way to chewy and my grandmother ordered sweet and sour chicken and I couldn't taste anything muis grease the crab Rangoon were pretty good and the egg rolls and the drinks were not worth $3.15 for a fountain drink and are like 12 Oz cups. Only one Chinese guy working too expensive for two people we would have spent less at Hu hot
