Cody’s is one of our most frequent stops in Sioux Falls! Their bbq pork, brisket and turkey are all outstanding! Portions are very generous. Sides of cornbread tops and beans are delicious. I recently bought a whole smoked brisket and 3 lbs of smoked turkey for our early family Christmas. The order was ready to go when I had requested pickup. They even included a large foil roasting pan for warm up along with the directions. I warmed the brisket at 250° for four hours, I warmed the 3 pounds of turkey for two hours at 250°. Everything was perfectly warm, tender and juicy. I would definitely recommend Cody’s.
Meat platters of Burnt ends, pulled chicken, chopped pork, beans, potato salad, coleslaw, French fries, onion rings and garlic bread were all amazing in taste, flavors and portions.
Cody's was a pleasant surprise. The food prices were very reasonable, our waitress was from New Jersey and she made our experience a blast. We had a couple mixed drinks and they were on point. The ribs were some of the best I have had and the sides were plentiful to choose from. We for sure will be back.
tired and didn't want to cook at home. tried this place and had an AMAZING barbeque platter! will definitely be back!
Regular lunch customer here!Usually get the rib platter - and it is so delicious! Couple times have gotten ribs that are tough - but mostly wonderful - wish they would put sauce right on the ribs though. Sides are scrumptious - beans, potato casserole, YUMCornbread muffin tops are a whole other level - sweet, a tiny bit of crispy on the top, and the honey butter is a perfect topping. My Favorite!
I had a full rack of ribs, baked beans and Mac and cheese. All I did was add bbq sauce to the ribs and baked beans and it was excellent.
awesome food friendly staff. there house sauce was amazing all around great food
I found the food to be very good. The quality is pretty good. The cleanliness of the place was really very good. I typically see something obvious in most places that needs improvement however here I didn't see anything that needed to be cleaned. So an A+ in my book.
Best BBQ I have had. I love coming here. Yeah it may be a bit more cost wise, but compared to other BBQ places it's not. Staff is excellent as well. Also have a bar too.
Have lunch there every week and never disappointed. However the few times I've been there for dinner it seems the lunch crowd got the best of the menu and the dinner crowd got leftovers. Neither hot nor fresh, kind of disappointing after I talked them up for their fantastic lunch.

I have been working in Sioux Falls for a month and a half. To say I am a BBQ snob would be an understatement. I lived in KC for 10 years and there is not very many of the bbq joints there that I haven’t tried. Anyway, I asked a couple of locals what the story was with Cody’s BBQ. I drove by it a few times. The two people I asked said they both weren’t big bbq people so they had never eaten there. I decided to to check it out. I had a two meat platter, brisket and sausage, fries and beans. The sausage was good. It was cooked right had good flavor. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite sausage ever but that was totally a personal opinion based on the flavor profile I am use to. I would definitely eat it again. The brisket was hands down the star of the show though!! It was freaking awesome!! Tender, juicy and had a nice smoke flavor as well. I wasn’t expecting to get that kind of BBQ in Sioux Falls SD! I would put that brisket up against most brisket I have eaten in KC! Bean and fries were good too. This is a gem in Sioux Falls in my opinion. I will go back and try more of their bbq for sure.
Well, I had high hopes! I was working in the area and rolled the dice on Cody's. I'm a fair guy and I am trying to be as honest as I can. That by far was the absolute worst BBQ I have ever attempted to eat. No smoke flavor and the sausage a brisket platter I had ordered looked and tasted like it was old, reheated and fried. I have had the best BBQ at some of the best BBQ restaurants in the country. I have no idea what you call this? No smoke flavor? NONE! Meat tasted like it was old and re-heated. Table was dirty, and the teenagers working the register and counter were difficult at best. After waiting 20 minutes I was brought the wrong order and had to go up to the counter to get the right plate. Then I was told it would have to come in a to go box? Employees were laughing and joking and arguing with the cooks? I had a few bites and left. By far the worst experience I have had in a very long time. This is not BBQ! Definitely won't be back.
Was a good meal. Knocked 1 star off because some of our ribs were so thin and dried out they weren’t edible. Not just the end pieces but throughout the half rack. The BBQ sauce was just ok. Didn’t wow me. But overall was still good
Indescribably delicious! Enough food per serving for a meal or two at home! Order/pay at counter ... get your own tableware/drinks and food is quickly brought to your table! Double sink available for those sticky hands and faces after being smothered in their tasty BBQ sauce!
Meat was pretty good, not great. Front counter staff left something to be desired, though an older lady came to our table to apologize and said they were new. One of our party ordered the 3 meat sampler, all he got was a big pile of pulled pork. The sauces aren't great. The sassy sauce has no heat. Neither the mild or sassy had much flavor. Not a horrible experience but not inclined to go back.
