Hagere Ethiopian Restaurant

It's been a long time since I had Ethiopian food so I thought I would try this place out. It's in a strip mall where the parking up front says there is a 30 min limit and to park in the back for extended time. The back has a lot of parking but then you have to walk all the way around to get back to the front to go to the restaurant.

There was one server so the service was on the slow side. It took a while to get the food and a while to wait to flag down the server to get the check.

There are a few tables and a few booths. I know you are supposed to eat with your hands but I asked for a fork anyways and got a plastic fork.

I got the vegetarian platter and the food was great. The bread has the sour tang. I love the variety of getting a platter. The food is definitely 5 stars, though I'm not a good judge of how authentic the food actually is but it tastes good. I got the mango juice which was also good (served in a styrofoam cup).

Come for the food and be prepared to wait.

This place does not disappoint. Both meat and veggie options are delicious and perfectly cooked. I loved the quality of the injera, an optimal level of sourness in the dough and ideal thickness. There is not too many staff on the nights I’ve been but the food comes out freshly cooked so if you need something you might have to chase them down a bit. Love the rotating Ethiopian music videos on the screen.

The menu features a variety of traditional Ethiopian dishes, with an emphasis on rich flavors and fresh ingredients. My favorite one is a shifinfen, you got to try shifinfen it’s highly recommended, other than that their customer service is amazing.

Overall a great experience and good. I do like the other Ethiopian restaurants I've been to in town better. The food was a little better, the service a little more personable, and the price was better. But, still amazing food that is worth the money.

This restaurant is conveniently located on Minnesota avenue, this restaurant is probably not good for large groups.

The food was absolutely amazing. It's been a long time since I had Ethiopian food. I just remember liking it. This just was everything I'd hoped for and better. I wish I'd received some instructions on how to eat the food, but I just dug in with my hands. It took a long long time to get the food which wasn't optimal but it was well. Well worth the wait. Everyone told me this is the best place and I have nothing to compare to since it was so long since I went, but I can't imagine it being better

This place is amazing! Food was so tasty! We had the yabege lamb and sampler. It was so filling and warm! Definitely coming back here later!

Excellent authentic Ethiopian food with huge portions and great prices. We also got the traditional coffee service with incense and popcorn. What a unique experience; we now have a new favorite coffee shop as well as restaurant so we will be back often.

Always delicious food and plenty of it. They will do everything to make you comfortable. Reasonable prices. She made me a combination plate. Had a box left over!!
