I just tried Ethiopian food for the first time at Hagere. I tried Yeheb Segeb Tibs(lamb with injera bread). It was spicy but I liked it very much. Couldn't eat all in one sitting so had for dinner later. Highly recommend Hagere if you've never had Ethiopian food and want to try it.

This is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Sioux Falls. Highly recommend the vegetarian options, specially, Misir Wat. But what truly makes my visits special is the warmth and kindness of the cook who takes my orders. She always makes me feel welcome. I highly recommend this place for both its incredible flavor and its friendly service!

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Sioux Falls! The service was top-notch—so warm and welcoming. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. If you’ve never tried Ethiopian food before, this is the perfect place to start. Highly recommend the combo platter—it gives you a little taste of everything. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Authentic and delicious Ethiopian meal with various dishes. The lamb was especially amazing. Very generous portion too, can easily be 3 meals. Highly recommend.

It's been a long time since I had Ethiopian food so I thought I would try this place out. It's in a strip mall where the parking up front says there is a 30 min limit and to park in the back for extended time. The back has a lot of parking but then you have to walk all the way around to get back to the front to go to the restaurant.
There was one server so the service was on the slow side. It took a while to get the food and a while to wait to flag down the server to get the check.
There are a few tables and a few booths. I know you are supposed to eat with your hands but I asked for a fork anyways and got a plastic fork.
I got the vegetarian platter and the food was great. The bread has the sour tang. I love the variety of getting a platter. The food is definitely 5 stars, though I'm not a good judge of how authentic the food actually is but it tastes good. I got the mango juice which was also good (served in a styrofoam cup).
Come for the food and be prepared to wait.
