Minerva's has always been our favorite venue for evenings out in Sioux Falls. However, our dinner there last night did not live up to our expectations. Our entrees were very good; but the service was inconsistent; for example, we were not served bread, even when we reminded the server, and at the end of the meal, the check took 15 minutes to return for signatures on our credit cards, although the restaurant was not busy. One of the dining rooms is filled with modern art and posters, but the aged clubby furniture remains and now seems dated and out of place. The owner was painting a scene of a bison on the wall in another dining room while dinner was being served, and the coat room was filled with ladders and painting supplies...all visible when you walk into the restaurant. It seems like it would have been a good idea to close the restaurant for a few weeks until the redecorating was complete. It's sad to see this grand icon in Sioux Falls slipping.
“T” was our server. So quick and efficient. The food was great but he made our experience next level. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back.
Always a good experience. Staff is well trained and friendly. Food is top quality with the best salad bar in the tri state area.
We dined at Minerva's in July and had a great experience. This time. Not so much. Service was slow.. lucky to get water which was never refilled. Food was Luke warm at best. The New York Strip was of the same caliber of steak probably found at Golden Corral. Quality and service certainly subpar. Not what you expect from Minerva's. It will be a long time before we go back. Too many other places to go where food is hot and not so expensive and service is great.
Spent our 53rd wedding anniversary at Minerva's. Food was great, nice sized portions and hot. Our server Andrew was a fantastic kid.
Our server Kaitlin (?) was extremely attentive and courteous, the food was - as always - decadent, and the atmosphere was perfect. We had a relatively large group, and were able to comfortably talk and hear each other without competing with other tables or piped in music. It was a delightful evening, and I cannot wait to return again on my next visit to Sioux Falls.
The staff were courteous and friendly. We love the Market Bar and the bison steak special was out of this world delicious. Dessert was a brilliant lemon cake. We loved the our entire experience.
Always great! Both the service and the food. Also, a little less pricey than some of the other fine dining downtown.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Good food in a beautiful place. We had a delightful young woman server whose name escapes now. She recently moved from Portland Oregon to Sioux Falls, SD. Impressed that she asked the bartender to come over so I could discuss Gin cocktails with him. Very nice that he was willing to chat.
Talent, was extremely warm and very helpful for a lovely dinner after a 12 hour drive! Food was exceptional with highlights being the Canadian walleye that was out of this world good, the bread was so good, a NY Strip with grilled onions that both rocked! Drinks of white sangria and a gin cocktail, pear Collins, both were delicious. Overall, a terrific dinner with great service. Highly recommend!

Minerva's is always a good choice for any occasion. We happened to dine out for my husband's birthday. I suggest adding their Market bar to your entree' for the greatest value. For just an extra 12 dollar cost their Market bar is a meal in itself. By the time you get your entree' you are too full to even eat your entree' so you have a meal to take home. I also suggest making reservations and telling the host or server if you are celebrating a special occasion. Our server came out with a delicious lemon cake with raspberry compote at no extra cost for my husband's birthday. Always a good experience and great value even at an upscale restaurant.
We lunch there and almost always get the Market Salad Bar. It's delicious, and the soup is amazing!
We are consistent visitors to Minerva's here in Sioux Falls and this was the first time in my memory that the service was sub par. Waiter was simply inattentive and seemed like he had better places to be. Was completely out of touch and didn't even acknowledge my wife's birthday. It will be a while before we return.
Was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! The spinach artichoke dip was great, the dinner was fantastic, the dessert was great, and coffee topped it off.
Waiter was attentive and helpful. Homemade blue cheese dressing was kind of runny but had real blue cheese chunks in it.
