Food was hot but the portions of somethings seem to be getting smaller. My mother orderedthe with meat sauce. There was more spaghetti then meat sauce. My father had the Cajun chicken alfredo but cannot really taste the spice. For the price that we are paying for the meals it would be nice if the portions were the same size as I had been and if the food was seasoned the same way. Usually we have great service there. However occasionally we get one waitress by the name of Corretta, she is very quick to take our order and bring us our bill but then she never checks in again to see if we need anything else. Or even if we need boxes. It's like she is saying hurry up and get out of here. I have yet to figure it out if it's because we have a child with us or if she doesn't like the size of our party which was only 5. My father ended up having to get boxes for us so we could take our food with us. Several of us would have wanted refills but we're not offered any including my 8 year old. If this hadn't happened more than once I would just say she was having an off day but as I said this has happened before with her. She tried to give my mother and I the wrong orders.

The prices are decent and the staff friendly. The decore and the cleanliness are dismal. The photos show the menu was cover in what I assumed was syrup. The coffee mug had cheese stuck to the outside, the waitress dropped reamer cups on tge floor and put them back into tge bowl, there was a dental floss stick on the floor at my feet. Just disgusting 😒. The mugs were also chipped which means bacteria could build up. I feel sorry for them.

Everytime we come to have supper our food is not how we want it. Like tonight I ordered my hash browns extra crispy (nope) then I asked for mushrooms with my steak bites (nope) just really small diced ones couldn't even get them with my fork. No cheese or mushrooms at the salad bar even requested them and they still didn't bring them out. Come on now you guys need to do better if you want customers to keep coming back. Tom and Tasha they're the best to have working when you come in.

Review for Ashly's Customer Service at The Frying Pan (1720 I-29 BS, Sioux Falls, SD)
I recently called The Frying Pan twice, trying to speak with the hiring manager, and unfortunately, my experience with Ashly was extremely disappointing.

Yesterday, when I explained I was calling to speak with the hiring manager, Ashly told me, “I can’t help you with that.” When I politely asked when the hiring manager would be in, she said, “I can’t tell you that.” All I wanted was to speak with the right person regarding a job opportunity, but Ashly's behavior made a simple request feel like an inconvenience.

Today, I called again, remained very polite and kind, and simply asked to speak with the hiring manager. Instead of offering assistance or informing me that she wasn’t the right person to speak with, Ashly responded with a very dismissive, “Well, I can’t tell you. Can I give her the message?” When I explained that I was simply asking to speak with the hiring manager, she continued to be unhelpful. It seems to me that if she’s not the manager, she should have just told me the manager’s schedule or suggested I call back later. Instead, Ashly became hostile, and to my shock, she hung up on me. I did nothing to provoke this response, and it was completely unprofessional.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable, and it’s unfortunate because it reflects poorly on The Frying Pan. It’s not the way customers should be treated, especially when we are polite and only making a reasonable request.
In the Bible, Proverbs 15:1 says, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Ashly could certainly benefit from a more respectful and calm approach when speaking with customers. I sincerely hope management can address this behavior to ensure future customers aren’t treated in the same manner.

Update 8/9/25 We decided to give it another try. Glad we did. Service was great and the food was really good. Had the salad bar and it hit the spot.

Surprisingly good for how run down the place looks. The service was absolutely horrible!! They weren't even short staffed. They were just a bunch of kids wanting to hang out and not do much. Again I have to blame it on management.
