I had the absolute best experience at this Ethiopian restaurant today! The food was literally amazing—so good that even after I was full, I still wanted to finish every last bite. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and made incredibly fast.On top of that, the owner is the sweetest, kindest person ever. She’s so polite and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. The customer service is just as great as the food!I 100% recommend everyone to stop by. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re seriously missing out. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Y’all these reviews are no joke. The lady who took our order was the nicest, most kind soul and took such good care of us, even I was surprised. Not only that but the food was straight FIRE. I enjoyed every bite. Seriously, if you want authentic Ethiopian food in a cozy atmosphere - this is the place. 0 regrets going here.

Amazing service. Food was incredible. It might be intimidating for a midwesterner from the outside, but you won’t regret it. Coffee was some of the best I’ve had. Numbers 2 and 4 on the menu were amazing. Would go again!

I had the honor of trying this restaurant out and I was very happy with my experience. The chef was the one who took our order and got right to cooking. She was so kind as to roast and prepare our coffee the traditional way! We were impressed with the quality and speed of service here. The food came out quickly and was served hot. 10/10 service, very affordable and generous portions of food! Parking is in the back, and has street parking if needed. This place was so cozy and inviting. Thank you for serving us!

What a wonderful and authentic experience. The owner was extremely helpful with ordering and was able to customize spiciness. She was also very educational and included that coffee/tea was customary after the meal. Would definitely recommend even if you don’t like going out of your comfort zone.

Her food is cooked from the heart and absolutely delicious! Or whole family thoroughly enjoyed each meal (even my picky 7-year old). She even custom adjusted the spiciness of a meal for our children. We will definitely be back!

We were driving through Sioux Falls on a cross country road trip and decided to try something new. The hostess was very friendly and offered us homemade vegetarian food: injera, with spiced chickpeas and cabbage was delicious.

The best Shero we’ve ever had in a while. We are not a big fan of eating out especially when it comes to Ethiopian food since we make it at home with an authentic ingredients sent from the origin. My family and I were on a short graduation trip in SD and we really wanted Ethiopian food. We googled and found few but most weren’t open so we waited until 11am and called shalom. A sweet lady answered and we asked if there is a vegan option and she said she has the best Shero we’ve ever had before. With a doubt in our mind, we decided to go just to give it a shot. The pleasant welcome, the humble service, and YES the best Shero we were served definitely left us speechless. And the fresh coffee (which the owner Seble said she won’t charge us for) was to die for. We felt like we were at home and left wishing we lived closer to SD. Thank you Seble. You are a gem. We wish you all the success this world has to offer . Don’t let the look device you. Please give this place a try you won’t be disappointed .

This was my first time eating at Shalom and first time ever eating Ethiopian Food. Seble was so incredibly friendly, kind, inviting, and passionate! You can taste the love she has for feeding people through her food. Ethiopian food may be my new favorite cuisine all thanks to the incredible experience at Shalom!
