Well first the guy couldn’t hear us so we had to wait for the car I front of us and then we waited for the car in front of us and the guy apparently still couldn’t hear us because he got the order wrong. I got my chicken strips and they were lukewarm at best and tasted like they just came out of the microwave. I got the wrong size sundae my fries were soggy and warm like they’ve been sitting on the counter for half an hour. and I thought chicken strip baskets came with white gravy. I got absolutely zero white gravy, which was the only reason I wanted chicken strips. am a local and will not return well been home 30 minutes and had to edit my review because I threw it all up Thanks DQ spearfish

The Spearfish DQ has gone so far down the tubes. It's a shame because at one time (a few years back), this was a great DQ.
Last week, I decided to give them another try & it was disappointing. I felt like the guy on the drive-thru wasn't even listening to me or was so high he just couldn't grasp my order. Literally 2 large Blizzards & I had to repeat myself 3 times. At first, he said it was $32 then he said $18 something. At the drive-thru window, we got to listen to a female employee loudly complaining about her job & wanting to quit. When our Blizzards were handed to us, the cups were dripping in wet rag water & melted ice cream. I did see him wipe the cup with the gross rag. I wanted to ask for another cup to put them inside of but this dude was struggling. I had to ask for napkins to wipe the cups. He offered exactly 2 napkins. I was almost embarrassed to be seen at this DQ.

The ordering processes was painful as the individual taking our order didn’t pay attention. The window service was terrible and the staff never spoke.

First, we were told at the drive-thru that we could not place two separate orders from one car. I’ve been to many Dairy Queen locations including this one in the past and have never had an issue doing this before.

Second, the people I was with have disabilities, which makes it difficult for them to enter and exit the building. We decided to go inside because they enjoy Dairy Queen, but it was still a challenge for them physically. Once inside, we waited about 5 minutes in line and then another 15 minutes for our food.

To make things worse, one of their orders was incorrect, which caused additional delays. This was my second time at this location. The first time, we were able to place separate orders at the drive-thru without any problem.

This is a bummer, because we drive to spearfish, on a weekly basis. We eat at a variety of restaurants but we may have to take this one off our list.

Staff was busy talking to each other, didn't greet us. Floors were really dirty. Women's restroom didn't have any paper towels and were very low on toilet paper, dirty also. Men's restroom needed the handicap bars to be fastened back into place. When we told the staff, they weren't very receptive. Disappointing that people don't take pride in where they work and when it costs $6.50 for a small shake, I expect better.

6 people standing behind the counter, only one of them doing anything, we waited 10 minutes behind one customer who had a small order, nobody acknowledged us whatsoever, waited another 5 minutes still nothing. We left and went to culvers. We had to quit going to the deadwood dairy queen because of the same problem. Never going back..

Absolutely rude for no reason. Nicely asked to try a different drink flavor because the one ordered tasted off.. old or something.. not good. We’ve had it before several times so i know it usually taste good?!. I was told no immediately and that we needed to pay for another drink if we wanted a different flavor. Three little sips were taken from it, one from each member of the car, all in agreement it tasted BAD. We had looped right back around the drive thru. So I paid for a disgusting drink and couldn’t afford to buy another and had to give mine to my kiddo and go without anything for myself 😕 very disappointing.

Over the years it feels like this place gets more and more lackluster. Today I went to the spearfish DQ to get 2 boxes of dilly bars. I needed to do 2 orders as I was paying with 2 cards. The lady at the drive through told me they don’t usually do 2 separate orders so but then told me she would just do it. Okay that’s fine. I get to the drive through and she tells me “we don’t usually do 2 orders because our drive through is too small” okay kinda makes sense a little confusing as I was the only car in the drive through at the moment. I used to work at a DQ a few years back and 2 orders was easy. For my 2 orders it’s especially easy. Press a button and push the order through, same for 2nd one. Then she told me “because like we could have a long line” I was like “…okay” By the time I handed her the first card, there was another car in the drive through. Shouldn’t have been much of an issue though as our orders were already in. The lady also didn’t tell me either of the totals. Wish spearfish DQ would hire people with less of an attitude… gonna stick to Belle Fourche DQ from now on.

I asked for a large Sunday. They charged me for a large and gave me a medium Sunday. When I asked about this they said they were out of large cups.
