Valley Restaurant and Catering

Valley Restaurant is such a hidden gem. Yes they serve biscuits & gravy, country fried steak, homemade pies, and the usual South Dakota fare. And it goes without saying they do those things well. But they also have kombucha on tap! If you don't drink and mocktails aren't exactly your thing, what a pleasant surprise to see someone offering a healthy beverage.

The server was really friendly and the cook peeked over at my table to make sure I was eating my meal. Just a really positive experience overall. I'll be going back here next time I'm traveling through Brookings.

Absolutely one of the best places we have eaten at since we moved out here 9 months ago! Sarah, the waitress, was pleasant and provided excellent service. Food was tasty, and showed up quickly. Prices were reasonable. Pie was very good. We definitely will be back soon. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

Christina and her team are wonderful to work with! They cater multiple weddings and are so efficient, timely, professional and besides the AMAZING food, their staff is so accommodating and friendly.

Pretty basic truck stop fare EXCEPT for the homemade pies!

The "hot beef combo" was a disaster from the start. I've never seen gravy like that. Then came an attempt to eat it...awful! The beef had an old awful taste. I can't say the potatoes under the dreadful gravy was any better. Done at that place!

Did someone say pie?!? Not many restaurants serve baked pie from scratch - but Valley does - and they serve a variety every day. So, when you have a craving for some tasty comfort food - head to the Valley (and if you are too full from the meal you can always take the pie to go!). (And yes, service can be slow at times - but they are obviously doing their best during these times - be patient and treat all service workers with gratitude.)
