Food was delicious

I used to eat here all the time and get takeout whenever I was in town, but I will never go there again after what I saw today.

It was around 6:30 on Wednesday and the place only had one table seated. They were prepping spring rolls in the back kitchen when I came to pick up my order. I watched a guy with a black hat on try to dump a bunch of spring rolls from the deep fryer basket and onto a baking sheet. One fell and missed and rolled onto the floor and I CLEARLY saw the guy casually pick it back up and toss it into the pile with the rest of them.

This is so bad and gross, I cannot believe they did that so casually.

I will be reporting them in the morning for food safety violations. I would recommend not having any spring rolls unless you like playing Russian roulette.

I think ALL the staff need to take a food safety course.

I'm so sad because the food has been generally pretty good up to now. But giving food that rolled on the floor to customers is completely unacceptable guys, come on.

Ordered the vermicelli noodle bowl. As someone who has eaten their fair share of noodle bowls, it’s easy to match up noodle
Bowl to noodle bowl. Sometimes each place comes off as being a bit different, so that’s a factor in itself.

In saying that, I thought this noodle bowl was pretty good. I mean, it’s a standard bowl, in that, nothing was bad. The service wasn’t great, and I was basically a forgotten soul in the corner of the darkened dining room corner. No refills, nobody came around to ask me how the meal was, nobody came to give me a bill either.

Onto the food; the noodles were awesome. I appreciated that they didn’t clump up, were thicker, and they reheated well (I didn’t finish it all in one sitting). The spring rolls are just a standard, not flashy spring roll. The meats were seasoned well and flavourful. The vegetables, although scarce, were fresh. I’ve had other bowls with more of a serving of fresh cut vegetables.

The restaurant appeared clean, but not well lit. There were quite a few people in the restaurant, and according to many, it’s a favourite spot for reasons.

**Ate here again today, Wednesday, October 21st, and this wasn’t good. Everything was dry, noodles were clumpy, no flavour. The bright spot was the spring rolls and the fact that they got my specifications correct. For $21, I’ll pass and find other options.**

The food at Vu’s Garden is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. However, the furniture and overall vibe could use an update—it doesn’t quite match the quality of the meal. Still worth a visit for the food!

Well Vu Gardens...it was nice to know ya! We have supported this business since Rose from Saskatoon opened. Well...yesterday, my husband and I went there for lunch. He ordered Sate Rice Noodle Soup, with charbroiled pork on the side. I ordered the Char broiled Pork Vermicelli. When it came out, nothing was char broiled. Soup tasted like ditchwater, with only a few green onions. Everything was ICE cold. We asked the waitress to redo our dishes as Everything was cold. We also told her we wanted fresh meat, not the meat on our plate just microwaved. When she returned she said they cook the meat in the morning and have no other way to heat the meat unless they microwave it. 🤮 We stood up and left without paying. WILL NEVER BE BACK! So disappointing after so many years.
GOOD NEWS...we went to Asian Lee and now have our favorite place.

I phoned in an order for pickup. I showed up early and waited. I was told it's ready, just waiting for 1 thing to finish. 10 minutes later I get my order and got home. Everything was warm at best, spring rolls were cold and tough, only dish that was hot was the one I was waiting for! I suggest that they learn to time all dishes, so they are all hot and fresh!

Overall okay, it’s not the most fresh or best quality. But it’s acceptable if my work ordered it in, I’d eat it.. wouldn’t order it myself.
