We’ve been buying buns from them since we moved here in 96 , they used to have a lot more variety like chicken pie and they made cakes , it’s still delicious just not as much options now . The reason that it’s not 5 star because like others reviews have mentioned that the service is very very slow , I went in at opening and it still took 40mins today, and an old lady butted the line and two guys that came after me loudly said they didn’t have to wait because they pre ordered , so the cashier was helping them first even though she didn’t even have their pre ordered ready yet, and another women came in while the person in front of me was ordering and she just demanded to have her order put in so she could pick it up at 4pm, there’s no organization and some of the customers that come in are rude af and doesn’t know how to wait their turn.

Hands down the best Chinese buns I’ve had, and I ate my way through Toronto, Vancouver, San Francisco, and more. It makes zero sense that this family-owned spot is tucked away here in Regina, but I’m not questioning it… just grateful it exists.

Sally is an absolute gem. Her warmth and hospitality make you feel welcome, and the care she puts into each bun is unmatched, including the upselling, which I find genuinely endearing ;)

Soft with the perfect amount of chew, never dry, never greasy, every bun is balanced and packed with flavour. The red bean is my favourite: gently sweet, earthy, and airy. The beef curry is rich, savoury, and comforting. The coconut, mango, and pineapple buns are all on my always-pick-up list.

The earlier you go, the better: you get first pick of flavours (and avoid the guilt of grabbing the last ones while everyone in line watches). They make fresh batches all day, and also offer day-old buns in bags at a more affordable price. They also have almond cookies, tarts, and cake rolls!

Can’t recommend it enough.

From the outside, this bakery looks run-down, and the interior purely just functional, but don’t let that fool you—the buns here are absolutely incredible! The taste/food offered is the number one I look for from a bakery/restaurant anyways. There’s nothing else like them in Regina. The prices are unbeatable, and the owner is incredibly friendly, with a clear passion for what she does. Since they’re only open a few days a week, I always make sure to stock up when I visit. Truly a hidden gem in Regina!

The smell when you walk in carries you to the counter and has you spending money like you're in a fever dream which is okay because the price to quality ratio is at least 1:10000000. Do not sleep on this place. Get there around 1 pm if you want to secure the goods of your choice or be left with slim pickings near the end of the day. This is a come and get your goods and go home situation. No seating area but lots of room for a line to form. Happy snacking!

Everything here is amazing! The buns and cakes are my go to. But I've tried pretty much everything they make and loved it all. Great customer service also (although I always seem to walk out with more than initially planned...)

Amazing buns for sure. Soft and tasty! This was my first time ordering, but I will be back for sure! Many reviews mention the long wait time and etc. yes, the wait time can be long, because they’re so busy. But we have to remember that this is not a fast food chain! This is a private business, and good things take time!

Their buns are delicious however the service falls short.

As the flavors run out it would be most helpful to REMOVE the cards. I waited in line for 45 minutes (with only 3 people ahead of me) only to see they were sold out.

I understand that upselling is often required but when a customer says NO you should not continue to ask multiple times if they want to add to their order.

I come here now and then when I visit the city. Their pastry buns are always fresh and airy. Filling is good. Cookies are bomb.

Philip Morris

It's an classic run of the mill Chinese bakery, 15 types of buns, swiss rolls, egg tarts etc. For sure not fancy or even inviting necessarily but is a very practical no nonsense Business.

TypicalReviewer

On Saturday, June 01, 2024 at 5:00pm - 5:15pm I am in the line and there is a pale faced Chinese lady, maybe 55 years old who was very difficult and frustrating. There was a dark skinned, fat bellied, middle aged Punjabi man who was VERY rude to the Chinese lady by crowding and rushing her and also rude and physically aggressive toward the cashier. He was yelling at her, pounding the counter hard with a closed fist, banging on the counter window and the table with his payment card and making a fool of himself.

She did her absolute best to help him without getting upset.

He then threatened her with a bad review. I want that man to know that he acted like an absolute fool in front of the cashier, my family and I.

Good on the cashier for doing her absolute best.

I am sure the atmosphere is great but you get the absolute worst human life shopping here.
