China Pastry, like so many other food establishments, are scimping on the amount of ingredients in their buns. Its not good value anymore. But as many know, the lady has to be the slowest server on this planet. I can be in and out of any bakery with my order in under 2 minutes. Here she's so slow the average time is always 15 minutes. Like how? The buns are ready and in front of my eyes. Why does it take so freaking long to grab the buns, put them in the box, punch it into the till, and let me go. Cleaning the outside windows may also help with business. It doesn't look like they have ever been washed.

Their buns and pastry are really good, but their service is just awful. When I ordered 18 coconut buns, they would try to talk me into buying other buns. Then they would take their time picking out which buns to give. Making others in line wait for an extra 5 minutes. Good pastry but just terrible service.

Haters gonna hate. If you can't be kind, obviously you have a bad attitude, 'cause China Pastry is LIT on the buns and the customer service. Love love love this shop <3

Delicious buns. However, they don't seem to open on time and the service is slow. Also, there was an instance where they opened but did not have all their items ready.

Good variety of Asian buns. Large, expertly baked and very delicious!

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I was telling the cashier the amount and the type of buns I would like. She would mock me and yell at me “How many do you want!???” As I was trying to tell her I want 2 Bbq pork buns, 1 pineapple bun, and 1 curry bun.She was also mocking me saying, “One this, one that, one blah blah. How much do you actually want!? Five!? Or 10!?”….like am I supposed to get an assorted buns of her choice and not allowed to choose what I want? I was just trying to tell her which buns and how much I want of each type. When I got upset because my patience worn out, she said, “You’re so funny haha” when I seemed upset after she mocked me.I’ve been a customer at this shop for years and my grandparents, parents, and siblings love the buns at this shop. I’m not sure what I did wrong to deserve such toxic and horrible customer service tbh…I just wanted some buns.

Always popular and busy. Authentic tastes. Variety of selections.

Went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We preferred the savory buns over the sweet ones, with the coconut bun being the exception as one of our favorites. The buns were light and fluffy and the meat fillings were delicious. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Regina. On another note, despite what some other people said, I found the woman that worked at the counter to be polite and helpful. We talked a little, joked around a bit, and it was what I would consider a good interaction all around.

So so good, a hidden gem for sure. You may wait in line a bit longer than anticipated so don’t come in a rush, but it’s worth it. Check out the Facebook page beforehand to see pictures of the buns!

Loved the buns and the tarts. plan ahead and call to know what's available and if planning to get a big batch of pastries.

Really obtuse lady runs the place. It isn't worth it to wait 30 mins to get buns in a box . Terrible service. Great buns

While the buns are great, the service has remained painfully slow. I drive by so often but having to wait 15 to 30 minutes to grab a couple buns just isnt worth it. Hopefully Regina will open up another bakery soon.
