Fireside Bistro has a menu that calls my name. I could eat there numerous times a week. Trying everything on the menu is a goal. Every time I eat there i wonder why i don’t come back more often.

Second time being here, first time in along time. Was there for a Saturday night supper with friends. I felt rushed by our server as he came over 2x to ask if we were ready to order within about 5 mins. When asked about whether anything was gluten friendly or free, he said he was unsure, probably? Most places will always say they will go and check with the kitchen. Food was good though, I had stuffed chicken. They did forget that my friend wanted rissoto subbed out.

I went here for brunch after being recommended this place quite a few times. I have to admit, a lot of people rave about this place but I’ve been here twice in the past and I can’t for the life of me remember what I ate. Might be a negative that it isn’t that memorable?

This time, we got a flavoured tea ($3.5), Brioche French Toasted Eggs Benedict ($21) and a French Onion Soup ($9).

I am annoyed with the price of the tea… because I have the exact tea at home and you can buy the exact same Twinnings Chamomile from Walmart for a pack of 20 for $5.57.

Anyways, the boyfriend said his soup was decent. He’s a man of few words.

My eggs Benedict was decent as well. The chicken was really good and felt hand breaded butter milk chicken. The hollandaise was really flavourful. While I appreciate crispy hash browns, I’m certain these were frozen. The French toast I had beneath the eggs Benedict reminded me of garlic French toast and I wasn’t sure how to feel about it…

I think it’s worth visiting, however I wouldn’t order the same dish again. I want to visit another time, maybe for lunch or dinner!

Tasty food and drinks. Great service.
A nice selection of foods that include vegetarian options, fish, meat and pasta.
Had a very nice meal here with friends. We had somewhere to be in 1.5h and the restaurant was able to accommodate us so we could leave in time.
Quiet on a Sunday night.
Can't wait to come back here in the future.

Beautiful Victorian house! Wheelchair accessible. I didn't catch the server's name but even though he was busy he gave us good, friendly service. My food was sub par. Seafood chowder had fake crab and my catfish entree was soggy. My son's stuffed chicken breast was dry. Please do better chef.

Food was pretty good but plain steamed vegetables were a let down compared to the rest of the plate. Reservations recommended.
