I have never had Grandma Lees before but it was a fond food place my mom would go to when it was still in Alberta. The sandwich’s are good quality and the chocolate puff squares are yummy and quite big. The man who served us was very helpful and took care with the meal. We were headed home a couple hours and wanted a sandwich for on the way so we asked for the veggies and mayo separate. They took the time to wrap and cut the sandwich with the veggies also wrapped up on a plate...
Ordered a very simple Caesar salad, which was decently priced; not super expensive, but not as cheap as a homemade salad.The staff was very friendly, super polite, warm and kind. The salad took a little bit of time to prepare, but I didn’t really mind the wait.The salad was disappointing, though. The lettuce was washed, but definitely not dried; which made the croutons a little soggy, and watering down the sauce.There were some pieces of lettuce that were sub-par, and browned....
This is not the same Grandma Lee's it was years ago. They just serve regular mediocre sandwiches now. The lady putting veggies on my sandwich put one tiny piece of iceburg lettuce and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for more.
