1st time been back in athens in years. Stop in for lunch. Good was just like i remembered it. Country cooking. Vegetables were great. Decent size portions. Great price.The ladies working are as nice as you will meet.Inside handed changed. Good to see somethings hasn't gone the fast food way!
What a cool place to eat! It’s definitely nostalgic grabbing a tray and getting your plate through a window. The owner is friendly and it seems like they get a lot of regulars... after all, the food was delicious. I went on a Monday and ordered sauerkraut and weenies, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, and coconut pie. It was delicious! They’re only open Monday through Friday until 3pm. This is one of those places you want to go to again to try something different each time.
Pretty good country cooking, the little old ladies in the back are slinging groceries. Cafe style if your in a hurry or table service if your not. Time stopped around June of 1974 at this place, except at the register!
