Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

2 hours. It took 2 hours from the time we were seated for us to leave. Our waitress continually apologized but never rectified the situations she put herself in.

It took 20 minutes to have our drink order taken and another 15 to receive them. At the time of the drink order, I ordered an appetizer. After an hour and a reminder to her about the order, they finally arrived.

She disappeared shortly after bringing the drinks. Our friend had to go to the entrance of the kitchen to ask for a refill on his drink.

She finally came and took our order for dinner. After 20 minutes, she admitted "she finally" put the order in due to forgetting to put it in.

Once we got the food, it was amazing and tasted great and we were able to eat in 25 minutes and leave.

There was no offer to comp anything on the meal, no offer of gift cards for next time...only a written "I'm sorry." on the receipt.

I have dined at many Cracker Barrel restaurants in my life and the one in Athens was absolutely miserable.

They were not busy (which should have been a sign) and we only had 9 people in our party. We had other waitresses taking other orders for other tables and they were able to eat and leave in a reasonable amount of time. Our waitress had 3 tables! 3! And each of them received the same kind of extremely delayed service.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Restaurant was not busy but I will say we got there at 7:30 and they close at 9….waitress greets us by telling us the things they were out of for the night. Took 15min or better to get our drinks. When food finally arrived she realized that she forgot to put in my order but assured me it would be out soon. My husbands food was cold, my son requested well done bacon(it was not), my daughter ordered a baked potato (never had a bad one of those but tonight I did) the best thing on the table was the macaroni. Found a hair in our bread basket. My food finally arrived after everyone else is done eating. No apology or attempted to take it off of bill. My chicken I ordered was pink and not made correctly (we are frequent eaters of Cracker Barrel from surrounding areas) I might also mention we were sat at entrance and had them rolling trash cans by us and closing during our $80 dinner. Do better Cracker Barrel of Athens!!! We love Cracker Barrel but this one is the absolute worst we have ever had!!

I love Cracker Barrel but today everything was bad the maple chicken was burnt and was not cooked right I work at a restaurant myself so I know and my server didn’t come back at all and I had to flag someone down to get my ticket

My wife, daughter and I all had the french toast and bacon. the Bacon was under cooked and the french toast was doughie. We have order that same meal many times and at many locations. This was the only time it was bad.

Not like other cracker Barrel‘s the check out was terrible. Had to do 2 transactions vector the cashier not knowing what to do.

Normally the food is great but today the chicken and dumplings just were not good. They were very thick and not cooked thoroughly.

Worst experience at a cracker barrel ever in 48 years of life. 15 seated quickly, 50 minutes later no drinks over half the table. Another hour passed the 9 adults got food, the kids waited another 20 minutes. We had to get up ask them to get some help twice. The adults were done eating and just passed our food to the kids. I have never written a bad review. Pathetic. Picture is representative of our night as a team trying to feed our kids.

We came here for dinner and they brought half of the drinks for the table and disappeared for over 25 minutes. The people beside us came in after us and had already eaten their food and left before we even got ours. 2 stars is unfortunately where the service was this time.

Our waitress was not the best to say the least. She was borderline rude. When you look around and the other tables she was waiting on are looking shocked after asking her for something you know or isn't just you. I have never in all my years of reading at cracker barrel had such poor service. The food was excellent as always!

Kid-friendliness: We had waited over an hour for a table which is to be expected with a large group on a Sunday. What we didn't expect was to be told NO we couldn't have biscuits until our food was served. We had serval small, hungry children. You go figure how happy they were with not getting anything until the meal was served.
