The service was good, but the quality of the food was extremely poor. We had the pot roast, which was tough and chewy. The mashed potatoes were so bland and watery that we couldn't eat them. I'm giving one star because the waitress did a good job and our bad experience wasn't her fault. The manager, however, should be fired for allowing the kitchen to turn out such awful food. The worst $39.00 that I've ever spent. I definitely would not recommend.
This Cracker Barrel in Athens Tennessee is very good
Greeted and seated quickly, Zeke our server promptly came over with menus and took our drink order.
Food came quickly and prepared as requested
Zeke checked on us and refilled our drinks without having to look for him

Very good experience this time around food was great. Waitress was exceptional. Very few people in Resturant and it was 11-11:30. Last 2 times previously food was not that good but gave another try. Glad we did

One of the worst Cracker Barrel experiences I have had. Waited 45 minutes for the Old Timer Breakfast (2 eggs, sausage, hash brown casserole with biscuits & gravy) and a Cinnamon Roll Skillet. When the food came out, I only got the eggs and the biscuits and gravy. Eggs were overcooked. Cinnamon Roll Skillet never came. Got the sausage and the hash browns much later and had to take them to go. Server asked her manager to comp our meal, he only said to remove the skillet. $31 for a terrible partial meal I waited over an hour for.

The server was great, but it took a long time to get our food (about 45 minutes). They were out of the pot pie I ordered but didn't tell me until they brought the other's food out, so I ended up ordering without looking at the menu again and I ordered based on how quickly it would come out as I didn't want everyone else waiting on me to finish.

I've eaten at Cracker Barrell a lot over the years at various locations. I have noticed a trend of poor food quality, especially with the biscuits. They used to be warm and a large part of the reason I visit. I visited the Athens, TN location a few days ago, and I must say; this is an all-time low. The biscuits were rock hard and the gravy had little flavor. It tasted mostly of water and a tinge metallic. It was so off-putting. The price for the quality did not match. I can't see myself eating here, or at another Cracker Barrell again anytime soon.
