This is our second time visiting Simon's. The first time was great! This time was very underwhelming. The server was attentive and efficient, she just wasn't warm or inviting. The food was just OK to not great. This is a gem in the small quaint town of Bolivar, but has a vibrant city feel. I took my mother here for a birthday dinner and had a pleasant dining experience. Our waitress, Destiny, was pleasant and responsive. The food was DELICIOUS. We offered the catfish and oven roasted chicken. The ambience was upscale with tranquil southern charm. The manager, Suzanne, came to check on our experience, which was a treat. I will definitely return.
Steaks were fantastic. Portion size on sides and appetizers is below average, but I ended up being glad about that. The fries were perfect, but I would have regretted eating a lot of them—a small portion was enough. Service was attentive, and management cared a lot about the quality of the food we were served. We will be going back and recommending the restaurant to others.
