I have eaten at Ankar’s since the 1980’s. When I come home to Chattanooga, I always go to the Hwy. 58 location & get a steak in a sack with Swiss cheese and an order of onion rings. I just got one today. My Dad had told me it wasn’t as good as it used to be. I got my favorite today & ate one dry, disgusting onion ring. They didn’t put the Swiss I paid extra for on the sandwich and the meat was too salty & was definitely not the recipe that the original owner used. Not to mention, it was about half the size that it used to be. I guess my craving died with the owner. I miss that wonderful family in the kitchen & hope the new management gets the old recipes back. Until then, I’ll eat somewhere else.

Jennifer, manager, was a pleasure to work with! She catered our dessert for the Chattanooga Newcomers luncheon by providing the large platter of baklava. She had them individually wrapped and placed on a large platter! EASY PEASY! Thank you!

Watching management yell and scream at employees is an absolute killer to what I believed was an amazing place to eat. However the female manager that was doing these things when confronted about her unprofessional behavior handled it with a sly remark and said “thank you for the comment but I know how to manage my people”
No complaints on the food or regular workers, however the female manager is a horrible killer to the establishment.

Ate here tonight and the staff needs customer service training. Ordered a sandwich with onion rings. Got the order and they gave me fries. I let them know I ordered onion rings and said I paid for fries. I did pay for fries but stated I’d like to have onion rings. They said it would be an up charge and I said ok and paid $2 more. The lady said I have to take your fries and I asked if I could keep them. She said I could if I paid for them and she took the fries. I asked what was she going to do with the fries knowing they can’t give them to anyone else. She said nothing, grabbed the fries and threw them in the trash. I mean I’m never one for a loss of words but that blew my mind how out of touch they are with customer service. Maybe she was having a bad day. I was nice and not rude. However they need some customer service training. Steer clear of this place!

Been going to Ankar's for about 12 years. Always great food, great service and priced right. Back down in the Chattanooga area today on little business trip and always great to stop by Ankar's to relax and enjoy a good tasting lunch meal. My go-to for a quick and delicious lunch in friendly atmosphere.
