Best steak in a sack ever! This place has been a staple for Chattanooga since the 80’s and it still turns out amazing food. Great hamburgers, sandwiches and superb onion rings- you can’t go wrong at the original Ankar’s on Brainerd Road!
I've been eating here since back in 1991 when a guy told me to try a Steak In A Sack.
I'm crazy about their Steak In A Sack, Gyro, Hummas Rider, Grilled Chicken Salad, Greek Salad, Gyro Salad, the deserts, the onion rings and French fries too.
The people who work here are terriffic, so the customer service is as good as the food.

Best service as I’ve become a regular. The chicken fried rider is sooooo crispy and with the lettuce creates a one of one flavor! The hummus with pita is otherworldly. The flavor depth is what keeps me coming back truly. If you crave something sweet try their original baklava as it’ll have you scrambling back for more.
