My family and I had dinner here yesterday and were very impressed. We were greeted with a smile and drink/food suggestions. Our server Josh was amazing! He was working so hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great. We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza, classic cheeseburger, chicken strips and chicken Mac. The blood orange Hefeweizen was perfect on a hot day. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I loved it! I have some dietary restrictions so I often have a hard time eating out. The waitress was very kind and helped me modify a dish so it would be safe for me to eat. It was awesome food and the customer service can't be beat.

We have enjoyed the atmosphere and the customer service from the servers especially Kathryn and the bartenders but we are disgusted with the owners for closing the doors today 07/17/22 with no notice to customers or employees! We were just there last night and asked and no one knew anything about you all closing! That is BAD BUSINESS!!!! Shame on y'all for doing that to them and to us!

So we had just got into Chattanooga (AGAIN) and checked into the Hampton Inn Hamilton Place. The hotel sits on top of a hill - right above Big River restaurant. We had been to Chattanooga repeatedly for softball tournaments and stayed at this hotel before. We always want to try new places - places we've not eaten at before that are NOT part of national chain (i.e. Applebee's). So given our hunger and the convenient location of Big River, we decided to give it a try. We established a theme this trip - starting off right here. We were seated right away by the hostess - and then waited - and waited - and waited for our waitress to swing by. After at least 10 minutes, I flagged down the hostess and asked if we, in fact, HAD a waitress assigned to our table. She confirmed we did and went to track her down. After a few more minutes, our waitress came by. She asked for our drink orders - and with how long we waited to wait for her to appear - we asked if we could order dinner, too. We had had PLENTY of time to review the menu so we knew what we wanted. She took both orders and went to fill our drinks - a diet cola for me and lemonade for my Sweetie. The waitress brought our drinks out rather quickly. And I was pretty slow to finish mine off - I usually suck the 1st one down quickly but not this time. I definitely SHOULD have - the fountain drinks are $4.00 - $4.50 for lemonade. Holy smokes that's highway robbery. Sweetie ordered a dinner salad and that was brought out first. It was a fair size but the $6.00 price seems rather steep. Just some greens and croutons. Sweetie also got the club sandwich. Waffle fries were the side. Both were prepared perfectly and he ate every bite! I ordered the Santa Fee salad with grilled chicken. It came with a nice bed of mixed greens, a fair amount of fixings (but light on the avacado and cheese). Both were fairly priced at $13 and $15. Overall, I feel we got screwed a bit on the drink and side salad pricing. However, when the waitress approached our table after we had finished and wanted to clear it, I asked for our bill as who knows when we might see her again. The bill came, I paid and he headed out and back to the hotel. Was it a great experience? Not at all. Customer service was rather lacking. And I've already said the overall bill was too high. But for the food - it was really good. Just getting the bill made it a bit less good. I would not return here when we come back - but no regrets for giving it a try. The convenience factor was another trade off, too. Which made it an overall winning situation.

Today we revisited after 10 years. We had a great time, good service and yummy food. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunny weather.

The waitress was very kind but it took forever to get our food. I got the chicken sandwich with avocado and it was amazing! The Caesar salad was good. My husband got the Buffalo wings and said they were ok. My daughter loved the club sandwich and my other daughter said the fried chicken tender were ok.

I went to Big River Grill for lunch because I heard the meatloaf was very good - and I was looking for some comfort food. Alas, the lunch menu does not include it. Nothing on the menu really appealed to me, mainly pizza, burgers, sandwiches, but a few items that were not the same old lunch options. Of those, I chose the chicken dish. The chicken definitely needed the sauce/gravy as it was over cooked on the thinner side of the breast. The zucchini/squash was charred but I actually liked it. Mashed potatoes were basic. I was a bit disappointed overall but will probably come back at dinner to try the meatloaf.

Large assortment of beers that they brew as well as some basic stock beers. They have a nice appetizer selection as well. The bartenders were awesome

First and last time eating here. Our waitress was terrible. We barely saw her. Almost never got our food and drinks empty. My husband's food was cold. My chicken was over cooked and old. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

This place is BEAUTIFUL, inside and out. But unless you're going for the scenery, you may be disappointed with the food.I had a $21 salmon plate and it was slightly larger than a goldfish. The rice had hard pieces in it, as if not fully cooked. The sweet tea was absolutely not. Not a good experience. Beautiful place though.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service. I've been here twice now and both times had Sarah as my server. She was one of the sweetest servers I've ever had. Very attentive and accommodating, never let my glass go empty, and had a smile on her face the entire time.

What restaurant does not have bread? None. Not even upon request. This rating of 1 is based in part on how far this place has fallen. My favorite for years was the Smokey Mountain pasta dishes (chicken or shrimp). They took it off the menu for a while, but apparently lost the recipe before putting it back in circulation. The current rendition consists of cubed boiled chicken, overcooked linguine and separated sauce. Dang it, I loved that dish! The fish tacos were very good before, but at this point, I'm afraid to try them. Bottom line, the only positive is that the Vienna Lager is still as good as ever. Very sad to see this decline.

While our server, Sarah, was great (and the only reason for the 2nd star), the food was so lack luster and subpar I pondered leaving after receiving my meal. What once was a good meal 4 years ago has become a place to avoid completely. Our chips were both greasy and stale, while all the sauces were quite obviously straight from a can.The salad was almost warm and the lettuce soft and wilting. Our pastas were just ok.HUGE miss. Avoid entirely.
