Great atmosphere, and food
Leah was the absolute best waitress I've had EVER!!!!!
Very delicious food and great service. I Will be back soon.
Expensive for a boring and nothing to die for food
This is the third time over several years in visiting the wonderful city. I have come to love this place not only for the incredible food but for the service it displays. Kristin did an amazing job serving us and confirmed why I keep coming back to visit. Excellently done Bluewater Grille, Thank you.
Just had cocktails. AC wasn't working very well that's why we didn't stay for dinner. Several spaces at the bar went uncleaned for the whole time we sat there (about an hour)..as a matter of fact a new couple walked in, sat at the bar, (at a dirty space) and bartender didn't come their way to clear or take their drink order so they left... Not a great first impression for me..
Wanted a nice restaurant to eat at and this is definitely a spot to check out. Classy interior and has a nice ambiance to it. Live music playing that sets the tone for the restaurant. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Place is clean. Ordered the calamari appetizers and the mini spicy tuna tacos. The spicy tuna tacos were delicious. The ahi tuna was perfect, it practically melted in your mouth. Made to perfection. Also ordered a Cesar salad, shrimp tacos and the hazelnut goat cheese market fish in a tomatoe sauce. The hazelnut goat cheese dish was very tasty but expected more of the fish to be breaded but it was just at the top. Overall, enjoyed the experience and would want to come back here to try other options off the menu. Check out the photos!!!
Three stars seems about right for this restaurant. And, as with some other recent reviewers, my primary issues were with the service and overall experience, rather than the food itself. I travel to Chattanooga a few times a year for business, and I do my best to try a new place every time I'm in town. On this trip, Bluewater Grille's menu seemed to be the best fit in the area for what I wanted to eat. I arrived shortly after 6:50 on a Wednesday evening to a half-full restaurant. After I was seated, I watched several servers walk past my table, but no one came by to take my order. After about a ten minute wait, a waitress - not my waitress, but another one - came by to take my drink order (conveniently, just after happy hour ended). After waiting for a few more minutes, my waitress eventually did come by asking, in an almost sarcastic way, if I'd had enough time to look over the menu. I ordered crab cakes for an appetizer, and the pub burger, primarily because I was in the mood for one. Several minutes later, another server brought my appetizer by (I realize this is common practice in the industry, so that itself isn't a big deal). The crab cakes were hardly special - three small lumps of crab and breadcrumbs on some shredded cabbage that strongly resembled some frozen crab cakes my wife and I like to buy at the grocery store, drizzled with a "spicy lemon remoulade." After my empty plate was removed and my water refilled by the first server (note: again, not my waitress), I received my burger. The burger was perfectly acceptable - nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The asiago herb & garlic fries were fine, but a bit heavy on the garlic, and with the garlic a leaning toward the raw side. Not necessarily disappointing for $13 dollars, but hardly the best burger I've ever eaten. After I'd finished my burger, I read the news while finishing my beer, intending to order another beer and dessert before heading back to my hotel. I was surprised when a third server I hadn't seen before dropped off my bill without asking whether I'd like anything else. Finally my waitress came by after a few minutes to take my card and wish me a good night. I went next door to the Big River Grille to have the beer and dessert Bluewater didn't seem to want to sell me. I get that everyone has a bad night, but in reading some other recent reviews, it appears that servers at Bluewater Grille may have more bad nights than the national average over the past couple of months. If this was the only semi-upscale restaurant in the area, that would be one thing, but you have plenty of other choices that are a short walk away. Next time I'm back in Chattanooga, I'll be visiting one of them instead.
We had a wonderful meal with clients at the Bluewater Grille. The crabcake apps were better than what you can get in Baltimore, and the pan seared scallops were the best I've had. The beer was good, and the fish and chips were great. Our server was great, and very patient with me (filet vs. fish & chips). When in Chattanooga I plan to go back again
The food is always indescribably Awesome. Great drinks and Great service. I eat here every time I'm in Chattanooga and it's always one of the biggest highlights of my trip.

Giving it 3 stars because the food was really good but the service from Megan was unacceptable for the prices on the menu! I should also mention that we were Megan's only table at the time. The issue was she brought us our first drink and took our appetizer order then she disappeared for a solid 20 minutes. Another waitress brought us our crab dip but she only set it on the table as she walked past. Plates would have been nice and my cocktail was empty at the time. After 5-10 minutes of waiting on a plate, I decided to eat the dip anyway because it appeared our waitress wasn't coming back. After another 10 minutes, I really wanted a second drink so I tried to make eye contact with any of the 5 servers standing in the corner telling jokes and having a good time.... all I wanted was a small app plate and another drink... we had given up on ordering food. I finally flagged down another waitress to find Megan because it had been 20 minutes since we last saw her. We watched the other waitress walk around looking for Megan but Megan was no where to be found. After we finished the appetizer, Megan finally returned. When she walked up to the table, rather than asking what we needed, she made excuses about why she was gone. She told us about her own personal issues and personally I didn't care in the slightest. If I'm going to spend $50 on 2 drinks and an appetizer, I need a little more professionalism from my waitress. I will probably eat there again because the food was good but I will walk out if Megan is my waitress again....... once again, Megan, I understand struggles of finding an apartment in Asheville are very real but it shouldn't have affected my dining experience in the manner that it did.
Great place for lunch and food drinks.
