The best fried chicken! Clients raved about this place and I finally had a chance to visit! We were seated immediately and service by Ann was amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and customer focused! Absolutely delicious fried chicken and frickles! You have to indulge yourself!

This place really surprised me. I saw it as a hole in the wall but the chicken and green beans were seasoned to the gawds, and that made me forget about the atmosphere. Not so much for the potato salad. The seasoning just sat on top of the potato salad. Ehh

Recently I saw a disparaging review of the service at the downtown MLK Blvd Champys. I can attest, as someone who frequents the restaurant 3 to 4 times a week, that the service from EVERY member of any Champy's location, is nothing but STELLAR! We ate here for lunch with our family. The food was all on point. Between our group, we had the tamales, the fried chicken, and the catfish and all were excellent. Also the Mac and cheese was very yummy. It’s a fun environment, and waitress was very kind and did a great job. I will mention that the bathroom has some things written on the walls and some photos of men that you might not want your little to be exposed to. Other than that, enjoyed our visit a lot.
