We always went once a week. We went last week and our server never came by to see how our food was. We even flagged another person for our ticket and a to go container. This wasn’t a rare event this seems to be the norm now.

Worse restaurant! They serve you nasty food and over charge you! And then argue with you when they give you something you didn’t order. Worst experience ever! Don’t waste your money! The food was not fit to eat and cost double what it was supposed to! Unreal! What should have been $20.00 ended up being almost $40.00.! The worst Mexican restaurant I have ever encountered! The taco salad looks like a thrown together taco. The food is not fit to eat! They don’t care and didn’t offer to make it right! Not even what we ordered! The lady just likes to argue because she can’t except she was wrong!

If you’re thinking about going here, don’t waste your money. I was recommended this restaurant by two of my friends since I am still kind of new to the area and don’t know any good mexican places. I was so astonished by the crappy service that I received after having high hopes. We asked for cheese dip and didn’t get that until after we got our food and had to remind our server of it. Once we got our food we didn’t even have napkins or silverware to eat with it and someone else had to bring it to us. Meanwhile we still hadn’t seen our server since she got our drink and food order. We didn’t see her until after we had got half way through our food and finally got to ask about our cheese dip. She brought it immediately but then after that we didn’t see her until we were completely done with our food and waiting for our checks. Once we finally got those she never came to pick them up and got someone else too. And then she thanked us and disappeared again. So disappointing and don’t recommend because it’s not like the food made up for the service either.
p.s. the salsa was basically just red colored water.

El Metate is our go to Mexican restaurant in Hixson! We come every week, and the food never disappoints! We had amazing service today by Emerson P, who provides efficient and friendly service every time! He knows what we want before we ever order! El Metate will always have our business!

I’ll never come back here for a meal . I’ve ate here a total of 4 times and I’ve not once received what I’ve ordered . This passed Sunday me and my wife met with a friend here for lunch and once again wrong food. I told our waiter he took the plate and brought it back immediately to tell me it is what I ordered #19 but they got one of the items on my plate wrong . (Kinda like oh well we’re not making it right ) so I just took it anyways but a few moments later my wife found hair in her meal .I again told the waiter and said we were done he said he would get the manager but he never came to our table I Paid the bill and left without even a apology offered I’ll never come back
