Headed here for a late lunch. Now we know they have closed since our visit, and it all makes more sense. The staff seemed to be ambling about, meh service. Our meal was fine, but while my husband's was a large portion, my salad was small for a full-size salad. Pretty building.

Food Works has been a mainstay in downtown Chattanooga for nearly 2 decades. I have loved every meal we've had there, and have been happy to use them for so many events I've lost count - my rehearsal dinner, my wedding reception, funerals, birthdays, out-of-town guests, company Christmas parties, nearly every Porsche event I ran, Oktoberfest for the PCA - the list goes on and on.It will be heartbreaking to see it close, and I can almost assure you that it has to do with greedy landlords pricing small businesses out of their spaces. My company entertained the idea of moving into the Knitting Mill building, as well, and after the landlord priced it 35% higher than any other space we looked at AND demanded part of our monthly profit, we went elsewhere.Once again, greed kills a small business, and makes Chattanooga a little less interesting. But, hey, maybe we'll get a mediocre over-priced corporate restaurant to go in its place and satisfy all the boring people.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a motorized lift there to assist in access.

Unfortunately, it was our first time there and it was fantastic only to find out that they're closing in today. May 26 is their last day in business. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was terrific, and our waitress (Sutton) was outstanding. I'm just sorry that Chattanooga is losing what we've discovered to be such an excellent restaurant Jamie.

I loved Foodworks and have been there many times over the last 15+years. I'm so sad to see them close their doors due to landlords building apartments in the venue. Chattanooga and the surrounding area is soon going to be a place with many housing units and nowhere to go nearby for food or entertainment. I'll miss foodworks!

We were visiting Chattanooga and attempted to dine here. It was 5 pm and the restaurant was empty. The hostess was extremely rude and told us it was a 20-30 minute wait, which wasn't a problem, but we were told we that we would only be able to sit outside. They are apparently understaffed. There were several other patrons we spoke with that experienced the same rudeness. We decided to leave and find a more hospitable establishment.

Good was really good. Service not so great. Seated at dirty table & just left there. Mimosa was not cold. We were never asked if we wanted water or if I we wanted another drink.

Cute old mill turned restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. The portions are large, so bring your appetite. Fried chicken biscuit was perfectly seasoned, tender, and burst with flavor. The side taters that come with it were equally well seasoned with mouth watering flavors. Fried green tomatoes were amazing.

Have been here many times, their brunch is the best though. Highly recommend it. Bread pudding is a must.

This was my FAVORITE spot downtown until tonight. I always request it for a special celebration. Unfortunately tonight's experience was definitely NOT the Food Works standard we've always loved. The food was just okay after waiting OVER 1 HOUR from ordering and several tables receiving their food FIRST when they clearly were seated WAY AFTER us. The staff is overworked and unfortunately the manager Amy didn't act professional in handling the complaints we had from tonight. It's sad to see such a wonderful place become this understaffed and the management angry.

I wish I could comment on the food, but sadly we had a 10a Mothers Day reservation through Open Table, and when we arrived, they told us that they wouldn't be opening today until 11a, and "didn't know why Open Table allowed the reservation, but they had called us 15 times to cancel." They hadn't in fact tried to call AND they could have just cancelled the reservation through Open Table! Also, they wouldn't be serving their normal brunch menu, but a buffet that cost $40 per person with a 20% gratuity...for a buffet! I have no idea how their food tastes, but their management left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Simply the best. Drove up from Atlanta to meet mom for Mother’s Day. The building is super cool with the modern industrial feel. The special buffet for Mother’s Day was affordable and had plenty of variety. Our server, Kiera, was fun, friendly and very attentive.Thank you!

Presentation is everything. The lighting was in adequate on salad and hot food line. The desserts that were placed were really under par. Nothing more than frozen item that were thawed out. Second floor buffet was entirely too tight to adequately have time to go through the line without being pushed by the people behind you. We understood that that the set was buffet style. But again, the presentation was not the Mother's Day experience my wife and I were looking for. Lance Dorsey 1pm reservation
