I am sure this once was the place to be, but that wasn't the case when me and my besties dined there together this NYE. As I walked into the entry way, there was litter and piles of leaves everywhere around all the tables. I understand it is winter and all, and no one usually sits outside on the veranda, but it has been unseasonably nice. So, my thought is that the daytime constituents should not have to contend with such a disarray. Keeping up a business's curb appeal or aesthetics of a place outside and inside is very pertinent. Once inside the front door, I was greeted almost immediately. I exclaimed I had arrived for my 6 party reservation—my apologies to the staff b/c I was without 3 of my party due cancelation. I think it's off putting that your wait staff didn't introduce themselves, our waiter and waitress didn't tell us their names, nor were they wearing a name-tag. Also they didn't make us aware of any chef specials or what the kitchen was out of either. As we began our order, suddenly they were out of the Guinness-Brined Pork Chop b/c the chef didn't have time to cut more...what??? Then my best friend ordered the Pan Seared Salmon, it was the same thing, they were out. So, it was a Classic Caesar Salad for my bestie, and I just ordered the Marinated Roasted Airline Chicken with grilled broccolini. Not to lie, it was pretty tasty, but I really wanted the pork chop and my best friend wanted the salmon instead. Our waitress was aloof the entire night, she didn't get my drink order right...besides she didn't even do the bare minimal like refilling our waters, not once—even though we asked. It's doubtful that we will return or recommend this place to anyone. Food: 3/5 | Service: 2/5 | Atmosphere: 3/5 Special events Seasonal / holiday event
i haven't been there since before the pandemic. absolutely love the redo of the whole place!!! the food was wonderful and the staff and servers were a delight!!! definitely will come back!!!
The Tgiving buffet food was good; servers were pleasant. The buffet was really messy and it didn't seem anyone was in charge of tidying. Ran out of clean plates and some dishes (slow to replenish(
The food was overpriced and not good. The advertisement in no way resembled the actual experience. Almost anything else would have been better.
We selected Forge for Thanksgiving brunch/lunch, largely because it was one of the few restaurants available in Chattanooga on Thanksgiving Day. The room and the space are impressive, the buffet meal was much less so. Unsurprisingly, there was ample food, some of it good. However, the presentation was mediocre; for example, the serving utensils were not refreshed and many were coated with congealed food. Several of the vegetable dishes were warm, but none we tried were hot. The prime rib was chewy , and was more decorative than delicious. At essentially $100 per person, the buffet was a poor value.
Dined on a Friday at 7 pm. We were greeted by a please seat yourself sign and no hostess. The restaurant was practically empty, it took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. The atmosphere was not overly appealing and it was very bright in the restaurant/hotel lobby we dined in. The waitress had no idea about the wine list or even how to pronounce them. The duck pastrami was delicious but besides that the food was very marginal. My chimichuri tasted slightly rancid, the local mushrooms had an overwhelming flavor of dirt, my date’s steak was severely over cooked and the menu just tasted bland. I would not recommend.

The food was absolutely horrible! There’s no other way to state it. The presentation was good, but I do believe the cook poured an entire cup of salt on the brocolinni and pasta!!! I got there early (bar side) 4 pm. I was starving because my meetings went overtime and I didn’t have time to eat lunch. I couldn’t even finish one piece of the vegetable. I only ate 1/3 of the pasta and I did eat the salmon. Very disappointed as I expected much better.

Both our steaks were severely overcooked. We didn't even eat them. Waitress was terrible. Checked on us 3 times over 2 hours. Will never be back. Food and service were awful

The dining experience was exactly what my wife and I wanted. Excellent food and service on a quiet Sunday evening. We missed the jazz music but enjoyed the atmosphere perfect for conversation.
We went based on the menu on the webpage only to find that it had been changed but not updated on the webpage. So what we ordered was good just not what we had anticipated. The drinks were good. The cream brulee was cold and chunky.
We ate there breakfast and dinner. All of the meals we had were excellent. The service was top notch and both times, the servers were knowledgeable and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
