Dear Goodman Coffee Roasters team,
I just had to reach out and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible work you do.
At the beginning of October I was in Chattanooga specifically to ride the Tail of the Dragon, but being a serious coffee enthusiast, I also had a short list of roasters I absolutely wanted to visit while I was in town. Goodman was at the top of that list.
Little did I know that visit would completely change my coffee journey.
I picked up a bag of the Rwanda Nyamasheke District – Red Bourbon, natural process – and the moment I opened it at home, I knew I had found something truly special. An explosive aroma of black cherry hits you first, followed by waves of blueberry and passion fruit. Every single cup has been an absolute joy: bright, complex, juicy, and perfectly balanced. This coffee has genuinely created a “before and after” moment in my (still relatively short) adventure into specialty coffee.
The bad news? The bag is almost empty.
The good news? I can’t wait to try more of your coffees – the Guava Banana is already calling my name!
Thank you for the passion and excellence you put into every roast. The shop was wonderful, the coffee is life-changing, and I’m officially a fan for life.
Keep doing what you’re doing – it’s magic in a cup.
With gratitude from a very happy customer.

Went to a lot of different coffee shops in Chattanooga over 3 weeks. Goodman's was clear and away the best coffee in town.

They have a great vibe going to sit and do some work with a friend inside or outside. However, the service for us was sadly not the greatest today. It seemed normal for the baristas to talk poorly about customers when they think they cant be heard. Our drinks were also pretty inconsistent- mine was bitter and my friends was too milky. I wish we would have gotten a more hospitable service experience, it would have made the trip here much better!

Amazing coffee and amazing service! My wife and I visit a lot of specialty coffee shops all over the country and appreciate a good barista and great coffee. This place was one of the best I’ve ever been too. They struck a perfect balance, rarely seen, of high quality coffee with informative tasting notes, attentive and kind staff, with incredible skills and a great atmosphere. Thanks for brightening my day!

While on our trip in Tennessee, my husband and I stopped at a different coffee shop every day. I tried either specials at each one or a white mocha(my fav.) To say this place had been my least favorite so far is doing it justice. Firstly, the overall vibes just weren’t the best here. The place smelled kind of weird, and the people working seemed like they hated to be there. Every other place has had very welcoming vibes with music and decor, but this place just lacked your typical coffee shop hospitality.

Onto the coffee(white mocha), it was so bad. I absolutely love coffee and will drink it even if it’s not to my taste, but this was just undrinkable. It genuinely just tasted like milk with a splash of old molded coffee in it. I attached a picture as well and you can tell by the color it’s almost entirely milk.

Lastly, parking. The parking in this whole area sucks. But honestly their parking was pretty good so I upped them to 2 stars. They have their own free parking in the back behind the building and you can walk down and around to get to them. This was genuinely the only good thing about this place. The only thing is it’s a bit hard to find the parking unless you accidentally turn down that road, so keep that in mind.

The earl grey tea was amazing as well as the bacon and cheese croissant. My boyfriend got a caramel coffee and it was yummy. Baristas were amazing as well.

Goodman is the best. Coffee is fantastic. Ian is a serious researcher, roaster, and brewer. But don’t miss the baked goods! Others have commented on the peanut butter cookies, which are in a category of their own. Scones & cinnamon rolls rival Niedlov’s. A gem in our neighborhood!

Came in because recommended by the restaurant we just ate at.

When ordering my cold-brew the person ringing me up had a recommendation. Person making my drink laughed saying some people just don’t know what they are ordering. I ,used to be a barista, but figured try something suggested.

Wasn’t the best n will never return because how talked about when they thought no one was listening

Stopped here on a long road trip and had incredible coffee and pastries. Prices are also extremely reasonable! The service was very kind and accommodating as well. Will definitely be coming back if I find myself in Chattanooga again. 10/10!!

Stopped here on my drive through Chattanooga and it was so good. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I don’t normally go for a sweet coffee but I decided to try one of their summer specials and it was so balanced and perfect. The shop is cozy and clean. Great spot.

Came here on vacation from Houston and I love to find local coffee places to try! Goodmans was so different than any coffee shop I have ever visited! The staff was so friendly and answered all the questions and made me a great iced coffee! The coffee was delicious and after talking with the Goodman family, we learned they actually visit the coffee farms they get their beans from and roast them on the spot! They put a lot of care and attention into their products!

The scones were to die for! They were fresh from out of the oven and still warm when they handed it to me. I tried the chocolate chip scone and the blueberry white chocolate scone! The best I have ever had!
If you are ever in the area, stop in and give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!
