We ran across this place almost 2 years ago on a stay in Chattanooga and came back this time to Chattanooga specifically to come to J Mac’s! If you are into wine, this place has an excellent selection and knowledgeable staff to steer you in the direction of something new and adventurous. ???

I'm not a wine snob by any means, but we had to try this place after driving by and seeing the neon sign. Just looked like a cool little place and it did not disappoint. Had a great cheese plate along with a beer for me and my wife had a glass of wine. This place reminds me of what a restaurant/bar used to be like decades ago. Seems to be a great place to go before a show at Memorial Auditorium or the Walker Theater.

He is a racist...As a black person,never go to jmac to do wine tasting. As a black woman I have never experienced racism openly in my face before until tonight. It was all bad. He told us that he do not like our kind in his business. It's ok,you should be careful who you talk to. I got you. I give this business 6 months before their doors are closed. I want stop until I see a lock on the doors....

My daughter was celebrating her birthday and we decided to visit J Mac's and what a terrible decision we made. It started when we walked through the door. The other customers looked us up and down, as if we didn't belong there. The owner did not check on us regularly, like he did the other customers. My daughter asked if she could make a music request but she was told no. That was okay but what wasn't okay was when they began playing a song that described being a slave. When we were leaving, he followed us to the door and demanded gratuity for his horrible service. When we said we weren't going to give gratuity for his service, he then proceeded to tell us "you probably need it more than I do." He told us that's why he didn't want "us" in his establishment. Everyone in our party was African American and we have never been talked to like that by a business owner before.
