Service was incredibly bad when me and my 2 friends went. Food was not horrible but everything tasted cheap and not seasoned at all. The rice was the best part of the whole meal. Our server was a man who was rushing by us, only stopped a few times to give us our food and to order. It also took way too long to get our order in, people who came after us got food before us and so on. It was incredibly disappointing as the food is EXPENSIVE for the portion sizes. I have gone to taco trucks and gotten MORE food for much LESS.

Alright so today is Valentines I’ve been here before one time this the second and this time was the wort at experience i’ve had first our waiter had an attitude with my gf . It wasn’t nothing serious but we had questions and she took it to serious and we ordered a burrito gigante. It was supposed to have queso on the top and have guacamole in the salad !!!! Server tried to correct us saying the guac was in the salad but wasn’t . We corrected her and she ended up bringing one. Mind you the burrito we ordered had queso on top of it but what? no queso on top of it what’s so ever . and to finish it off i had the cook come out with no gloves or anything so idk what this means? Does this mean mexiville cooks right ? I don’t think this place is sanitary also had gnats flying , does the food health inspection need to be reported?? does someone need to be called to check the restaurant? the service wasn’t good . the lady and whoever sat us down i don’t like their attitude. Had a good attitude even being nice not everyone can be the same back lol 7:10 02/14/2026 if someone wants to talk abt this we can.

First basket of chips are free. After that, they charge you. Also they charge you for hot sauce. Salsa tastes like pizza sauce and chips are not cooked at a high enough temperature and taste like oil. Food was just ok. Not anything to rave home about.

Casual, delicious, and fresh!
Birria is tasty, just spicy enough, and filling!
Very good and fast service! The food was delicious, and the prices were good! I'll be back.

★☆☆☆☆
Mediocre Mexican food at its absolute pinnacle—congealed beans, flavorless carne asada that could double as shoe leather, and salsa that tastes like it was strained through a gym sock. You’ll need that cheap booze just to choke it down.
Speaking of staff: there’s a heavy-set male employee who lurks like a storm cloud, zero social skills, and an uncanny talent for making every interaction feel like an interrogation. Eye contact? Smiles? Basic human decency? Nope. He’ll hover, sigh, and somehow make you feel like you’re the problem for daring to order food.
Location is a disaster. The “outdoor patio” is a cruel joke—50 feet from a busy bus stop where exhaust fumes mingle with the aroma of unwashed humanity. Happy hour runs 2–8 PM, which apparently translates to “open invitation for every sketchy character within a five-mile radius.” Cheap liquor attracts cheap company, and the patio becomes a front-row seat to chaos you didn’t sign up for.
Save your stomach, your sanity, and your wallet. This place is a hard pass.

Birria was ok didnt have much flavor
While staying the night at the Read House, we Googled restaurants near us and Mexiville came up and sounded like a good choice. Oh my gosh, I don't think I can even describe how good the food was. The chips and salsa definitely tasted homemade and the chips were so warm and crunchy. We ordered the Volcano fajitas to split and it was enough food for us to be stuffed and still have a to-go box packed full. Our bill came to under $30 before tip. Next time I am in Chattanooga, I will be eating at Mexiville.

This place is great! I got the mexiville taco plate and for under 15.00 got 3 huge tacos with fresh avocado slices, their own salsa, tortilla chips and a cup of salsa plus a generous portion of Mexican rice and refried beans. Everything was hot and delicious. I got it as take out and service was fast and friendly.

Restaurantji Recommends
Food is outstanding. They have the best “kitchen request” hot sauce I think I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. It is a habanero hot sauce that complemented our food and chips very well. We loved it. The food is excellent. The service was average and acceptable. The atmosphere is a little rough but it works for the price point and quality. Highly recommended and we would go back.
