Absolutely my new favorite restaurant in Chattanooga! Was debating on some other BBQ joints but, thankfully, made the decision to try Mission BBQ. From the moment I walked in the gentleman at the cash register welcomed me and so did all of the other staff. He asked if I had been there before and I replied no to which he took me through the menu and options. I ordered the Brisket and Jalepeno Cheese sausage with 1 Rib plus the coleslaw. About 5 minutes later, a kind gentleman by the name of Dwayne, brought me out my food. We got into a wonderful conversation and he insisted that I try some of the other sides. 5 minutes later, he was back with a huge sampling of all of the other side dishes. He also brought me a nice taste of their smoked turkey and Caramel Apple Cobbler (I guess). More than generous and extremely appreciated. Everything was seriously wonderful. I mean WONDERFUL. You can go to a BBQ joint and get decent food and decent sides but I tell you, this place is truly legit. The food, the service, and the incredibly patriotic ambience with tons of service folk on the walls from firemen, policemen, military and politicians. Great to see a restaurant with this much character from top to bottom. I commend this location and the staff, especially Dwayne, who made my visit, memorable. When in Chattanooga it is imperative to make a stop at Mission BBQ. Believe me, you won't be disappointed and will hope they have or open a location where you live.

This past Veterans Day I had an experience at Mission BBQ that gave me so much more than full stomach. Since I left the military 17 years ago nothing has felt like this did. It didn’t solve all my problems but it did give me some healing to some things that have hurt for a long time and some feelings that needed to be addressed. I was not looking for that, but that’s what happened at Mission barbecue on Veterans Day for me. For the first time in 17 years, I stood in a room full of other service members and saluted the flag while singing the national anthem and then said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Although I’m not a singer, so I apologize for the sound of my voice in the video, but it was a very wonderful experience and I’m so grateful to Mission barbecue for facilitating it. I’m grateful to them for everything they do for the people that serve this country from military to firefighters and police officers. This is a wonderful place to support. On top of all that the food is amazing they give wonderful barbecue. I had a chopped brisket sandwich that was absolutely delicious and their sides are just as good. I had mac & cheese as I do every time I go there but highly recommend it for the food but also because you know that you’re supporting a wonderful business that cares about this country And gives back to it. You’re a very meaningful way. Thank you Mission barbecue!!!!

We came to Chattanooga for a painting class for veterans this weekend. Our painting instructor Kaleb Knowels, Marine veteran, recommended the Mission BBQ for lunch …. We arrived before they opened on a rainy day they invited us in to sit until they opened up. We loved the atmosphere and the National Anthem at lunch was absolutely the coolest, and the service was stellar. They let us try their Cole slaw and corn bread and just came out with the best working spirits ever… They probably won’t know how happy they made our table full of US veterans with their fantastic service and simply put.. AMAZING food…thank you …

Tried MISSION BBQ for the first time and it did not disappoint. Some of the best BBQ I’ve had in a while. The brisket was incredibly tender and juicy, and the beans were full of flavor.

I've been to this location quite a bit and they are always consistently good. The ONLY reason I gave a 3 star rating on service/atmosphere is because the young gentleman running the register, while courteous, had long dirty fingernails.... it was a bit gross....
The meat did not have a smoke or barbecue taste. The bread pudding was delicious.
