I'll definitely be back and recommend you give this place a try too!I ordered a Combination Mei Fun (Rice noodles with Beef, Roast Pork, Chicken, and Shrimp) and Beef w/ Broccoli (subbed carrots) at lunch time and was able to pick it in 15 minutes. It came packed with as much food as they could fit in the containers and the white rice container was bulging it was so full! They definitely didn't skimp on the portions and it's been very tasty as well. With how much I got, I won't be able to eat it all before I have to get rid of it. $ Value to portion size, this place can't be beat!On top of that, I had gastric bypass last year and needed to find some Asian food that isn't cooked in heavy oils and MSG that trigger my stomach so the 100% vegetable oil everything was cooked in held up great! Now, it's obvious the dining room never got set back up after COVID so it's sparse inside but they have take out only and they clearly know what they're doing in the kitchen which is all I care about. Don't let the strip mall location and photos of the decor fool you and give it a shot!

Beef Lo Mein was devoid of flavor with the beef having the texture of just fat. Fried rice had nothing in it with the only flavor there being an odd cardboard reminiscent taste, and the general tsos chicken has a rubbery dry taste although a step up in quality from the rice and lo mein

The place is not configured for dine in right now. We stopped going there because the quality of the cooking had dropped but after many years, they have stepped up their fried foods. They totally hit the spot and everything we got was perfectly done. They get five happy tummies from me.

First, it looks as if the restaurant is deserted. That should have been my first clue to turn around. I tried this place because of the decent reviews. The sweet and sour chicken was old and flavorless. The lo mein noodles were old and cold. They had a weird taste and stuck together like glue. The only thing edible was the egg roll. This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. They give big portions because the quality of food is very poor. Save your money and keep driving past this place.

This place has the best Chinese food on Brainerd Rd! It is always more than you can eat and it is given to you so hot, you have to wait for the food to cool a bit before you can eat it. Staff is very friendly.

Whatever you do, don't eat here. I'd give 0 stars but I can't. Completely rude!! We ordered perfectly fine but when it came to pay - and I do understand it's a big order but everyone else deals with our orders pretty well - the girl kept saying we didn't pay for things when we paid and then we were missing orders and she accused us of snatching the food beforehand so we didn't have to give it out. Completely rude when we called to say food was missing, and when I arrived to get the food to be remade she accused me again of taking the food out beforehand and laughing in my face saying she KNEW all the food was there

Chinese No.1 Restaurant on Brainerd Road jas absolutely the BEST CHINESE MEALS from here to Miami, Florida!!!Any negative reviews must have been written by other competitive Chinese restaurants. l have lived in Florida & traveled all over the US & I have never eaten Chinese food better. I've referred many friends & they all agree. There are many Chinese restaurant closer to my home but its worth the drive to Chinese No.1
