My second time coming there hearing the staff being talked to so rudely, next time I will say something, I don’t know where Mark is but he needs to head back down to that Panera and straighten him out. Very smart comment, smart reply, talked to is like we’re dumb, I’ve been coming to this location for 15 plus years and never been talked to like this I love Alicia but the manager is rude.
Me and my husband went there Saturday June 21st, the manager was so mean to the ladies working there, there was a strong smell of some type of chemical, one lady was coughing so bad and the other lady was talking to another lady and said she couldn’t breathe, the manager then said if you can’t breathe then go home in a very snobby, mean way and the girls where so nice but the manager was very rude, unprofessional & a snobb, me & my husband will never return! And the people at the tables next to us said the same thing he’s rude they need a new manager they are way to nice and respectful to get talked to like that infront of customers, I wonder what he says when customers aren’t around
Terrible service so rude and unprofessional. Not busy yet orders are so slow. 6/17/25

Local hub for all the down town crack heads- they literally hire them. Which wouldn’t be an issue if there was even ONE competent person who worked there. Whole staff is horrible.

Shockingly bad food and bad service. Simply put it felt like the store USED to be Panera Bread. Like when you go in an old Pizza Hut but its not Pizza Hut anymore. It was weird and gross.

Friendliest people ever at this Panera! I don't get to go everyday even though I'd like to with my Sips membership. The ladies in the morning are the sweetest!!!

I have been here on more than one occasion hoping they will get better. Do not get lunch here unless you have an hour + to wait on your food. This is likely the worst managed lunch option in downtown Chattanooga.

I had an extremely frustrating experience at Panera today. I placed a to-go order and ended up waiting an entire hour for my food, which is unacceptable—especially during my lunch break. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of communication from the staff. No updates, no explanation during the wait, just a lot of confusion among customers.
When I finally got my order, the staff mentioned that the long delay was due to Panera being bought out by another company, and as a result, things are “just not up to standard.” While I understand that changes may bring challenges, this is not the customer’s problem. If operations are falling behind, they clearly need more support and better management.
The employees were friendly, but that only goes so far when a simple order—like soup—takes an hour. This location desperately needs more staff and improved processes. Unfortunately, it left me seriously reconsidering whether Panera is a reliable option during a busy workday.
