Genesis was absolutely amazing. My granddaughter turned 12 and requested we go again. Love wearing hat's and drinking delicious tea's. Absolutely love this place ?

Polly Claire's is now the Genesis Tea Room, but fret not, the menu is the same! The Lobster Bisque is always a good choice. A tea and a tier make a great afternoon.

We loved Polly Claire's and we love Genesis House of Tea--a tearoom situated in a beautifully renovated historic house, lots of teas to choose from and plenty of menu choices. Wonderful staff and fun for all ages!

An experience everyone should try. Amazing teas and scrumptious deviled eggs and tea sandwiches. The scones with the lemon curd are to die for. Southern hospitality at its finest. Proceeds from the tea house go toward the fight against human trafficking. Oh, please remember to make a reservation and be on time. Enjoy!

And it is wonderful! Genesis House of Tea is a nonprofit organization to help those trapped in trafficking all over the world… well-respected by reputable organizations. Every tea tier was wonderful, and they also have menu items. Must visit!

This tea house has been sold and is now owned by a non-profit organization. Had a wonderful experience, great tea experience with great food. If I am ever in the area again I will be going back. Reservations are required. It is now called Genesis House of Tea.

so I do not want to lie to yall and imma rant for a minute ???but I do not recommend polly claires for a birthday party ever again!originally when I first called and booked i told them I would be having maybe 10 , 15 people there I told them her dad had passed recently so her dads side may possibly show up thank goodness they did not now! so I told them I needed the private room upstairs intended for parties.ofcourse I needed that room like are you serious its a 7 year old girls birthday party!!!!????well they inform me when i got there the whole upstairs was occupied and they wouldn't be able to serve my party aswell today due to the party upstairs ? in which I told them I needed that room when I very first called them !! they called me second time and I did say probably not as many people but its a party how am I supposed to know who's all going to show!I just gave the closest estimate of kids.anyway they sat us in the main dining room ywere people sat and stared at my daughter and just talked badly the whole time ?the older woman in the sweater just stood there staring the whole time with a look on her face that just was really displeasing to me and my guest she rolled her eyes when she saw the little girls putting on the dress up hats she gave everyone real RACIST vibes like we were all so uncomfortable yall . ready to run out that place and this little girl just stared at my daughter the whole time ? I was so ready to ask her momma sitting there what was wrong with her daughters face and why was it looking so ugly !?? honestly. thats ridiculous it was my baby's birthday party and yall tried to ruin it .all she wanted was a tea party with her friends. she had fun because thank goodness she didn't pay attention to them. but these people were very ugly point blank can never change my mind on it server was very rude did not receive tea or food until 30 minutes in sitting there be stared at please NEVER BOOK HERE if you want your babygirl and her family and friends to enjoy a nice tea party brunch just do not call them. I'd love to honestly see them shut down after yesterday.it was true horror. and it was like the lady was doing everything on purpose to make us feel unwelcome and ready to leave I don't know what kind of place thier running but it was a disaster.racist vibes. and just never seen so much evil in one place. very sad ? ? I wish when I walked in she would of been like no we cannot do her birthday here because were racist and it will just ruin everything because I would of said good day and walked out. f FYI people come in all different shapes and sizes and color and we should never treat someone badly over the way they look feel free to share because I'd hate to see someone else's family go through what we did yesterday. ?‍♀️?? praying for this place ? they d9nt even deserve one star !!!!

My wife, daughter and I had the afternoon tea on Tuesday. It was very good as always. The server was attentive and informative about the teas and courses.

This was our first time coming to Polly Claire’s, and we had a wonderful time! I highly recommend trying the Afternoon Tea at least once if you’ve never had the experience before. The majority of our food was delicious! I don’t normally like tea, but the ones I tried were very good. I even bought some from the gift shop! I think next time I will try some of the other food, but the Afternoon Tea was a great experience, and I’m so glad I tried it!As a note to the owner or manager, the sandwiches were prepared quite lazily. One example is that I had a finger sandwich with cucumbers and spread in one bite and just bread with literally nothing else in the remaining bites. Also there were a couple of items missing from one of my courses. And it seems that some items are just replaced without informing your guests. For such a lovely establishment and a $32 experience, I expected all of the food to be there and if items needed to be substituted or if the menu had changed, you need to let customers know upfront while they order instead of just bringing it out. Also, everyone at our table thought that our server was very rude. She made a few rude comments to people in our party. And I asked her if there was a specific ingredient in one of my courses and she said, “I don’t think so, but I don’t know for sure. I don’t know what all of the ingredients are, so unless it’s an allergy, I don’t know.” Well, it is an allergy, but she didn’t bother to ask or even find out if what I was inquiring about was in the food. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. All of these things together made my review 4 stars instead of 5. The food and teas were delicious though. If we’d had a different server and a little more care had been put into the preparation of the food, it would have been five stars for sure! Just something for the owner or manager to be aware of and hopefully fix.

We had a wonderful high tea, everything was presented so beautifully, the food was delicious and fresh. The service was spectacular. Can’t wait to visit again.

Our experience with a very smug, and rude server who should not be working with the public in a hospitality setting.I want to explain the whole situation: So the misunderstanding came up when trying to check out. My wife won a gift card drawing from your gift shop for Tea for Two. The gift card only stated it was for Tea for Two and did not specify any dollar amount or anything about taxes. The only qualifications it stated was it had to be used Mon-Thurs.I ordered the $18 brunch and had some tea myself. On the bill, we were charged taxes on the entire amount instead of just my meal. When I was trying to explain to our server what I was supposed to be charged, she asked the tall server with the glasses about it. This is when the tall server stated that the gift card does not include taxes and she said that whoever wrote the gift card wrote it out wrong and it should have stated that it does not include taxes.I said that my total should only be for the brunch plus the tea and she started immediately being very rude to me stating “I’m sorry that you do not understand how our system works. I’m trying to be nice. I’m sorry you don’t understand.” She said that several times loud enough that my wife heard her from our table in the other room. Then she said “If you do not have the money for it, I can give you a few dollars.” and was laughing at the same time. Which was incredibly insulting and smug to say.At that point I asked to speak with the owner or the manager. When the manager came out, she was speaking very loudly to me and I explained again what the charge should have been and that’s when she told the server just to comp the meal.I assure you that I was not trying to just get a free meal; me and my family have been to your restaurant many times without incident and love coming there. My little girl especially loves the restaurant. This was a very disappointing response from a staff member there. Also when my family was walking by that same server that was being rude said “Excuse me” to my little girl and bumped into her at the same time when there was plenty of walking space to where she had room enough not to bump into her. This incident is coming directly from my 8-year old after we left. If I had known at the time that it had happened, I would have reprimanded the server publicly. That was beyond inappropriate. Our actual server was very pleasant and also apologized to me three times saying, “I do not understand why she is acting that way.” And said she should not be behaving in that manner.I messaged the owner this same text let’s see what happensThe problem with this whole situation is miscommunication from the gift card and the way the server handled the situation by insulting the customer and speaking very rudely that is the short of it

Three of us had the Colonial Christmas Tea Service on Saturday. Where was the colonial theme? I was expecting something different for this particular day, but was disappointed. Two of us had the Quiche Lorraine. The crust was good but the filling was mostly like scrambled eggs, didn't see much of the green onions, spinach, and bacon. The waitress offered to replace our dish but, at that point, I just wanted to eat my scone. The jam and lemon curd were super good on the scone. The tomato bisque was tasty.

Get dish washer named Logan Heitmuller. Works hard and give maximum effort in washing dishing. Should get a raise

Had a nice tea with my daughter today. We are sad to see the for sale sign in front of the bldg. Service was great and the lit fireplace was welcome from the cool autumn air today. The cream was nice but clotted cream is more traditionally English. And the limited variety of curd is why it's only 4 stars.
