Food and service were amazing, as always. We were shocked to have to now pay for parking!! A $300 dinner and we have to pay for parking! We were told by the staff they have to pay for parking as well! And don’t the owners also own the parking lot? Possibly this isn’t the best policy!

BIG PARTIES BEWARE!!! Our family always comes to St John’s every year, close to Christmas, to have a nice dinner. The old place and the way they ran it was amazing, however, the new location has completely changed their structure on handling parties over 10. Our server was great and we were in a private room in which they have privacy blinds which is great since we can get loud, but the food….. was very disappointing. The most disappointing thing is the WAFFLE HOUSE menu they make you order off of when you have a big party, our party was 12 people. No info on website regarding party size. The menu is nothing special. The main courses are steak, chicken, trout, and a veggie option. Which are things you can order anywhere in town. They didn’t even include their beef tartare on the app list… we love the unique items on the main menu, elk, duck, bison ribeye, but unfortunately we had to order from the WAFFLE HOUSE MENU. If I’m going to spend money on good food, I want the good stuff! I understand y’all want to serve everyone in a timely manner, but I’m okay waiting a little longer for something I can’t get anywhere else. My fiancé and I split a salad and the steak as I was not going to waste my money on a WAFFLE HOUSE menu. Then we went to Goodfellas and got a slice of pizza! Never left a restaurant still hungry. Hopefully y’all change your business motto because y’all are losing out on a lot of money! We don’t plan to be back next year

Beautiful place and the appetizer of smoked trout was delicious.Unfortunately this was not the fine dining experience I was hoping for.I am a server in fine dining and am pretty patient when it comes to most things when it comes to restaurants. Our server was hectic literally running around the restaurant not attentive to any of his tables and when spending what would’ve been about 500 for two people if I would’ve ever gotten to order the bottle of wine I picked out.Not necessarily the servers fault it didn’t seem like they had any support staff. No one to help run food, bring bread to the table, water guest, clear plates or assist in anyway and it this type of establishment that’s just not what I would expect.I was looking forward to the meal as the menu was great but I couldn’t stick around any longer to let my frustrations build.Hope others have a better experience than we did.

The meat was very undercooked then came back tasting like charcoal. Not the first time I’ve had a problem like this there. The service was good and the other food was good too. The new building is nice but the main dining room is very bland.

My husband and I have been to St. John’s many times and have absolutely loved it. Due to past experience, we chose to go here to celebrate our anniversary. We both ordered filets and they both came out almost completely rare. It looked like the steaks had been seared and nothing else. My husband decided to power through and not send his back but I sent mine back because it was even worse than his. I got mine back and it was still extremely under cooked, so I sent it back a second time. When the steak came out the second time, it was almost inedible. I had to saw the steak in order to cut it and ended up only eating a few bites. Through all of this, a manager never came to our table to check on our experience. I have never been to a restaurant and had to send back a steak multiple times and never be checked on by a manger. I am very disappointed in our experience and the food quality. Unfortunately we will not be coming back for awhile.

RIP St Johns
We reserved our 2nd Anniversary dinner tonight about a month ago and requested the table we were engaged in for the evening. We were called 3-4 times to confirm our reservation and we asked if they had the particular table on our reservation and were told yes. The day before the hostess called and my wife confirmed the reservation and she asked again to be sure that they had the table and the hostess said that they would "try to ensure our table". My wife told me this morning what had happened and so I called to clarify what that meant. The hostess gave the phone to the manager and he told me they had booked the same table about 15 minutes apart and that there was no way we were going to get the spot since the other person booked it a few days before we did. He said we are sorry and we will put you somewhere else in the restaurant. I asked how you could confirm the reservation multiple times over a month and then right before we showed up to be told thi? Completely ruined our evening. There was no offer other than we will put you somewhere else in the restaurant. Chili's and Outback would have done that! I understand they are moving near the country club on the other side of town and I would expect this sloppiness from a country club hospitality group. So maybe it is fitting they are moving. They were the top restaurant in the area for years but tonight showed that we should not dine in such a poorly managed establishment. We immediately canceled our reservation and will spend our money in a better run restaurants such as Easy Bistro and Aleia's who actually manage and care about their customers experience.

It's definitely a special occasion restaurant. Romantic and classy. The food was a little below what I expected.

Perfect is the only word I can use to describe our experience. The food was incredible. Every single employee we encountered was kind and went above and beyond to make sure we were happily fed. It was my husbands 30th birthday, and the first time we as a couple have had the kind of money required to spend on fine dining. When I say it was worth every penny, I mean it. This restaurant has set the bar high. I wish them good luck in their move, and can’t wait to visit again soon!

I haven’t been to a nicer restaurant in all of Chattanooga. The building is so beautiful and truly adds to the special experience this place provides. The bartender is fantastic, we had a few delightful cocktails prior to dinner.

Our server, Margaret, was absolutely lovely. Everything we ordered, with a few recommendations from our server, was delicious. She really made our anniversary special. I’m so glad Chattanooga has a restaurant of this quality. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I spent our anniversary there and they even had menus printed wishing us a happy anniversary! They are very personable and the food was created by a true genius! Kaitlin was also an excellent server who treated us very well. Highly recommend coming here for a night out! Totally worth the price!

Dietary restrictions: They ask you specifically if you have any dietary restrictions. They are very accommodating!

Absolutely fantastic! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and we could not have been more impressed with the food, the service (our waitress Caitlyn was excellent, by the way), the atmosphere, and the attention to every detail. I highly recommend you go here if you get the chance!
