Alan was very professional and friendly. He took very good care of my wife and I on her birthday. Thank you so much!

Absolutely one of the best, if not the top restaurant in Chattanooga and maybe the southeast. Don't miss an opportunity to try it.

Our bartender/waiter was the best part of our dinning experience. Big thank you to Allen for his customizations to drinks and candid conversation.
Food was good, unequal portion sizes: two scallops verus two 4 inch wide beef tartar circles for similar pricing.
The Italian creme cake was fresh and not too sweet.
Once again Allen's hospitality enhanced the food.

This is another amazing place to have cocktails, and the dessert is outstanding as the service.

We loved everything from walking in to when we left. It was an experience not just dinner out. The atmosphere was cozy elegant, booth cushions were velvety soft with great support, and staff were friendly and helpful. Our server was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful explaining different menu items.
The chef and his staff prepared mouthwatering dishes with top quality ingredients, that are pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. We were a party of 3, every dish was delicious and we shared them all. Our first time, but definitely not our last!

We had an impeccable meal at St John’s. Everything was top notch. Allen took great care of us, and I had the absolute best pork chop of my life.

We recently hosted a dinner event at St. John’s Restaurant as part of our wedding celebrations. Having had great experiences dining here in the past, we were excited to share this spot with our guests. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations.
The food was very poorly executed—soups arrived cold for several guests, the pasta was overly thick and heavy, and there was a noticeable inconsistency in ingredients (some plates had mushrooms, others didn’t). It felt like the dishes were rushed or not properly cared for, which was surprising given the restaurant’s usual standards.
We understand that hosting large groups can be challenging, but we expected better coordination and attention to quality, especially for such a special occasion. Sadly, this was a real disappointment during what should have been a celebratory evening.

The service is great and the food was phenomenal. The filet was cooked perfectly, the halibut was delicious and the Italian cream cake was amazing. Nice ambience. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

After finally visiting the new location I had to remove my previous 5 star review.
I have always enjoyed this restaurant so much and had heard mixed reviews since the move to the new location and new ownership, but definitely wanted to visit and try!
It definitely seems like all of the recipes have been passed to the new owners but the menu used to be much more nuanced/selective which gave a more upscale feel. The new menu also seems to be lacking anything exotic/adventurous. I also noticed this with the dessert menu. It seems any dessert they have ever offered is available, rather than a more seasonal, thoughtful selection.
I also miss the ambiance of the previous location. It was such a cool space that fit the restaurant perfectly! The new space gives outdated country club/banquet room.. there is definitely more access to parking, but it's all pay to park, so this doesn't feel like much of an improvement.
All in all, it simply doesn't feel like fine dining anymore, which is fine, just a much different experience.

Fantastic experience. Our server Tommy was so lovely, personable, knowledgeable, and passionate about each dish.. Each course was unique, well paced, and the portions were appropriate. The Waygu New York Strip was worth the high price point and was the highlight of the meal. We will be back next time we visit Chattanooga and will request to be seated in Tommy's section, he really made our evening that much more enjoyable.

We will definitely be back. The filet was off the chain. So tender and melted right in your mouth.
And you could tell by the way the chicken tasted it was great quality, firm but tender and moist.
