The building was attractive. We had 8:00 reservations but there were only a handful of tables occupied and no one was at the bar. The food was subpar and the service was questionable at best. We ordered oysters as an appetizer and they arrived about a minute before our entrees. Halfway through our meal, with 7 oysters left on the platter, Kyla asked if we wanted to "scoop them out" so she could take the plate. The lobster Mac n cheese was large but the lobster was overcooked. Seared tuna was overcooked (on one side), the fried mahi bowl and tuna poke bowl were large and prepared the best of the 4 entrees. We asked about dessert choices and were told "chocolate cake, cheese cake, and creme brûlée" She then said "Oh, we have an eggnog creme brûlée". I asked if the cheese cake was plain she reluctantly said "It's matcha, but I don't tell people that because you can't taste it". explained that those details would be important to me. I was going to ask for details on the other options but I gave up. Not trusting the generic descriptions at that point we said thank you and we would pass on dessert tonight. At that point we really just wanted the check to leave. Upon receiving the check we asked about validating parking since it was on the website. There's an entire section on parking on the website. They obviously need to provide a map of parking since it's a very specific gravel lot. She said she hasn't looked at the site, but the only lot they valid is "2 blocks behind the restaurant in front of the flats apartments and I'm sure it's not the one you parked in". She then walked over to the corner near the raw seafood and proceeded to cough into her hand then deliver food to a table. Entrees all below $31 unless "market price".

Waiter helped us with explaining the specialities and what they are famous for: craft ice, cocktails, and oysters.
GET THE OYSTERS. These are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific Northwest. Sweet, briney and tender. We had the Canadian ones per our waiters suggestion and were not disappointed.
I had both mocktails and they were delicious. House made tonics were complex and balanced. Did not miss spirits in them as they both felt like fancy drinks.
Main courses were steak. Steak frites was generous and perfectly done. The homemade steak sauce was delicious and had a smoky sweet undertone that lingered. The filet and goat cheese raviolis were sublime. Perfectly done steak and al dente ravioli made for the perfect pairing. I was delighted as I never can decide what I want to order and this gave me a taste of two dishes!
The chocolate layer cake was dessert and was one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had. The whipped cream and Carmel Sauce just put it over the top!
Fun open dining area made for a nice atmosphere. Would come back again and again to this gem of a spot.

My wife and I just had brunch there, we had the baja omelette and chicken and waffles. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. Shout out to our waiter, Mark, you're killing it brother!

What a gem of a restaurant! Amazing atmosphere, professional friendly service (thanks John Luke we appreciate the hospitality), and tasty food and drinks. I had no idea Chattanooga was so cool! Ya can’t go wrong here at STIR!

I would like to start off with saying our server was phenomenal and was very on top of her game. I don’t remember her name but she was blonde with dreads. The crab bisque was splendid and the caprice was delicious. However the 65 dollar steak was so full of gristle, completely unseasoned and seemed to heavily rely on you using the sauce that came with it to piggy back the lack of flavor and cooked incorrectly, that a guiding hand seems to be needed in the kitchen. I ordered a filet to replace it and while it was good was also not something I would ever order again. I would gladly post if requested a 13 dollar sirloin that would blow both of these cuts of meat out of the water. The building itself seems to come off as an upscale old city establishment, but I would avoid having any sort of business meeting or celebration here. This would be a great place to have a drink from their spectacular thought out drink menu to catch up with friends, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than that.

Amazing bar. Exceptional restaurant. Brunch, lunch dinner or just drinks. Stir has the atmosphere you want. Reservations recommended for prime dinner hours but 30 minutes goes by very quickly at the full service bar.

The food came quickly and was delicious! Bailey was a gem! She gave suggestions and recommendations on great food choices. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Fair prices for nice portions of food. Excellent presentation as you first eat with your eyes!
