I have been eating at Sunset for years.My cousin and uncle would drive from West Point Ga.just to get some Sunset BBQ. I hate you are closing?? nobody's else's ribs are good .I wish each one of you nothing but the best. Best Ribs in Chattanooga Tennessee my family will miss them good ole ribs.

As we entered the Sunset BBQ building, I looked up at the sign above the door, sadly in need of repair and missing some letters. "How much could it cost to fix that sign?" I asked as we entered. Inside it was dark and vintage videos of Michael Jackson and Prince played on a TV in the corner. Several patrons sat in old diner chairs or the blue vinyl booth seats waiting for their orders. We went to the front counter and ordered a brisket plate with sides, and a rib and pork plate with two other sides. We are BBQ competitors ...and our goal is to eat at every Chattanooga BBQ joint this semester before our son's home football games. It became obvious to us that few people actually ate in-house as we sat there...and as time wore on, we realized we would be late for the football game if we stayed and ate. My husband had the sweet tea (peach flavored) and was flabbergasted...said it was the best sweet tea he had ever had (and that's saying a lot!) When we got our food, he told the lady and she kindly refilled his cup before we left. The place was packed with people waiting for their orders when we left. We sat in the parking lot of the high school before the football game, and ate our BBQ in a food-induced high. The meat was spot-on as far as bark and tenderness. Could have been just a little bit smokier. All of the meat was swimming in BBQ sauce and that turned my husband off a little bit, but I actually liked it, as I am a sauce person and this was good tangy and rich sauce. Sides were good, although the potato salad and slaw tasted like they were commercially prepared. Collard greens were great. Baked beans tasted like Bush's with no added flair. Portions of meat were good, and there was no way we could finish all the brisket. Prices were a bit high but fair for the amount of meat they served.

Great food ? BBQ is the best in town, but!I ordered 4 slawdogs at 4pm at 5:35 I was told it will be probably another hour plus, this is crazy,So unfortunately ? that anyone should haft wait to this long to eat. Get a plan.

Good barbecue but the wait is always long for eat in or take out. They never answer the business phone for call ahead orders. Be prepared to WAIT!

BEST BBQ I've ever had. I'm a pitmaster and BBQ is my favorite food. Their sauce is the only reason I enjoy their ribs more than my own. Their sauce is Amazing if you like a little spice. I've been eating here for over 40 years. Even used to go to the bonny oaks location. The kids have done an excellent job.taking over. Usually when the kids.take.over there is a drop in quality. Not the case. The quality has become more consistent. I love that they sell the sauce. Just wish they sold it by the gallon. There is always a line but its well worth the wait. I do.a.lot of traveling and always try ribs and have yet to find their equal or superior ribs. If I could give 10 stars I would.
I just ordered a sandwich and it took an hour and a half. I understand you have other customers but really you can't look and see a sandwich order and get that done? Will not be coming back.

Hands down my FAVORITE BBQ EVER!!!!! First time I've ever ate there and will definitely be back. Their ribs are the best I've ever had. Great food, friendly service and good atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

Just went there not at a busy time probably a hour after they open ordered a rib sandwich someone went to pick up it was awful and they waited on it it was suppose to be all the way it had been soaked in bbq sauce bread stuck couldn't pull it apart no slaw it was the worst for buying a sandwich that is $12 dollars it was ridiculous and I stay over 3p mins away then yiu can't get no one on the phone to complain
