Great place. A little off the beaten track from downtown Chattanooga , but worth the 10 minute drive.
A really nice mix of a coffee shop, cocktail bar & a better than average cafe serving tasty, and mostly healthy, dishes.
Occupies an old gas station lot with lots of outdoor seating that is very dog & kid friendly.
We’re glad we took the detour on our way back to Atlanta from Nashville.

They are nice and it’s a cool spot but the food is just not good. Or at least the pancakes and coffee are not good. Pancakes were super dry, even with a double helping of syrup. My wife had the regular and I had the blueberry. It was hard to choke down. Especially when the coffee was sour? I’ve never had sour coffee in my life. My wife had a latte, same thing, sour. Do not recommend at all.

We had an unfortunate experience here with an employee. My husband and I went to order our food, we are used to sitting outside, but it was chilly, so we decided to sit at the bar. I had ordered a cortado and wasn’t 100% sure if I was supposed to grab my coffee or not, but I saw someone running drinks who was looking around for tables, (we hadn’t even put our number in our stanchion yet) so I asked her if that was a cortado that had just been prepared. She very rudely said “this isn’t yours.” Walked away and then turned around and again rudely said “yours will come to your table”. I was so embarrassed and honestly pissed, because I was trying to be helpful if she was looking for our table.
I understand being annoyed with customers asking for drinks that aren’t theirs, but the way she handle it was not okay. I got overwhelmed and started crying because I didn’t think what I asked warranted that response, so I walked to my car and my husband made up a lie about us getting a phone call and asked to get our food to go. He mentioned the rest of the staff was very helpful and kind, so this review isn’t a reflection of them, but this experience was so bizarre and unwelcoming, I wanted to share it.
The food was fine after taking it back home, but of course got cold on the ride home. Just didn’t want to stay at an establishment that I felt very unwelcome at.
This was definitely a one off experience, because we’ve never had an issue here, but makes me not want to go back to Daily Ration for a while.

You can never go wrong with this place. Their parking lot is a little small however there’s plenty of parking on the street right beside it. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and actually plenty of seating behind the main eating area which most people don’t know about their drink specials for days And really great food as well. You do order at the counter they’ll give you your drinks and then bring your food to your table a little later. This place is actually really cool.

The food here is great. You walk in and order and pay at the counter before finding your own seat with a number. You are also asked to tip when you pay. I'm not a fan of tipping before service. Speaking of the service, which is really lacking, we had to get our own refills on coffee and napkins and whatever else we needed. The wrong food was brought to the table, and when they did figure out what we ordered, it was all brought out at different times.

Great local restaurant with my son. Good food and good people with a pleasant atmosphere highly recommended.
The Daily Ration had absolutely delicious breakfast & brunch coffee and food. Plenty of options including morning cocktails. I had a breakfast platter with eggs, sausage, and a biscuit. Everything tasted wonderful. The restaurant had multiple areas to sit including an outside patio that was covered. My wife and I added this to our must return list in town. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.
Just ordered to go and we got two Hevos Rancheros bowls for NINETEEN dollars a piece. I wouldn’t mind the price if it wouldn’t literally been all tortilla chips, one sad looking egg and maybe a half scoop of chicken. It’s called Huevos (multiple eggs) and you have one sad Huevo to both of us. Plus if we scooped the sad portion of chicken out of both of our bowls and combined them we still wouldn’t have had enough for one bowl. Dude the tortilla strip to everything else ratio is insanity. I’ve seen chipotle give better portion sizes without asking them. This was sad and legit highway robbery. Please tell whoever’s portioning out your to go bowls to do better because this was pathetic.
